🌿 A few of the small swaps I make every day

Sustainability doesn’t have to mean changing everything about the way you live. For me, it’s about making small choices where I can and, most importantly, choosing things that I can use again and again.

🥪 Stainless steel lunchboxes
A simple swap that means I don’t need disposable containers or sandwich bags every day.

💚 My very battered Frank Green bottle 😂
I’ve had this bottle for years and it is still going strong! It’s definitely seen better days, but that’s kind of the point. I don’t need a new one just because it’s not perfect anymore. I’ll keep using it for as long as I can.

And that’s really what sustainability looks like for me.

It’s not perfection. It’s using what you already have, choosing reusable where it makes sense and making one small swap at a time. 🌱

A little day in the life of a small business owner 🌿🤍

Started the day with a walk with the dogs 🐶☀️, then my new Swedish dishcloths arrived and of course I had to open the box immediately 😂

Behind the scenes I also spent the day updating the Eco Haven Co website, working on our growing product range, catching up on admin and doing all those little jobs that nobody really sees but somehow take up half the day!

It might not look like much from the outside, but there’s a LOT happening behind the scenes as Eco Haven Co continues to grow. 🌱

From FOGO liners to more everyday sustainable swaps, I’m so excited about where this little business is heading.

Okay… this might look a little questionable 😂

But here’s the thing…

The liner hasn’t disintegrated. It’s still holding together and doing its job. 👀

Yes, there was a gap where some of the liquid started to come through, hence me out there slapping my FOGO bag around 😂 But the rest of that liquid had been sitting inside the liner.

And you know what?

I’m still using it. 🙌

I’m going to keep monitoring it and, as long as it’s still intact and doing its job, I’ll keep going with it for another week.

Because compostable doesn’t mean it has to fall apart after a couple of days. 🌱💚

Sometimes real-life testing looks a little… gross. 😂

But that’s exactly what I want from my liners, something that can handle the wet, the dry and everything in between.

It started with a compostable liner for our FOGO bin… and then I went down a rabbit hole. 🌿

What started as a simple idea to make our FOGO bins a little easier has turned into something much bigger for me.
The more I learn about waste, plastic, what we bring into our homes and the impact our everyday choices can have on the environment, the more I want to make small changes in our own home.

And honestly… I’m still learning. 🤍

I’ve found myself on my own sustainable journey — exploring reusable products, reducing plastic, looking at what we use every day and creating a more low-tox, sustainable home.
A big part of that is my children. I’m conscious of the world we’re leaving for them, and I want to do what I can, in the ways that feel achievable for our family.

I’m not trying to create a perfect zero-waste home.

I’m not throwing everything away and starting again.

I’m simply slowly eliminating the little things that I can, and replacing them with better choices when the time comes.

And I thought… why not bring you along for the journey? 🌱

So Eco Haven Co is evolving too.

From our original compostable FOGO liners, to reusable produce bags, food storage, sustainable swaps and more — I want to find products that I genuinely believe can help us all make those little changes.

Because when you start looking at the bigger picture, it really does make you stop and think about our planet and how much we need to protect it.

Okay, PSA… ditch the microfiber cloth. 😂

I’ve got the worst glass cooktop. It shows EVERYTHING and has absolutely no forgiveness when it comes to streaks. 😅

But since switching to a Swedish dishcloth, I’ve been genuinely impressed.

The absorbency makes wiping up spills and mess so much easier, and I love that I’m not constantly going back over the same spot trying to get it clean.

It’s reusable, washable and just one of those simple swaps that actually makes sense in everyday life. 🌱💚

And the best part…

Our Vergeside Liners are designed to help keep your outdoor FOGO bin cleaner and fresher for longer.

And with spring and summer coming, they’re about to become even more useful. 🌱☀️

Food scraps, garden waste and warmer weather… we all know what that can mean for the smell coming from the bin. 😂

And here’s a little secret… 👀

They don’t necessarily have to be one use!

Keep an eye on the condition of your liner and, if it’s still holding up, you can continue using it. Once it starts looking a little worse for wear or you notice it’s beginning to break down, that’s your sign to pull the drawstrings, tie it up and replace it.

Because we want you to get the most out of your liner while it’s still doing its job. 💚

🌱 Our reusable produce bags are HERE! 😍

I am SO excited to finally introduce these to Eco Haven Co.

When I first started this little business, my focus was FOGO and creating better compostable liners. But as I’ve learnt, grown and started making more sustainable swaps in my own home, the vision for Eco Haven Co has evolved too.

We’re growing our range one sustainable step at a time, bringing you simple, practical swaps that can help reduce single use plastic in everyday life.

Our reusable cotton produce bags are our newest little swap and they’re now live on the website! 🛒💚

You can grab them in packs of 3 or 5, so you can choose what works best for your grocery shop.

And this is only the beginning… 👀

Over the next few weeks we’re also adding reusable silicone bags and Swedish cloths to the range!

I’m so excited about where Eco Haven Co is heading and I hope you’ll come along for the journey.

We’re not perfect, I’m certainly not perfect, but I believe sustainability doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

It’s about making small changes, learning as we go and taking one sustainable step at a time. 🌱💚
