Did you know that the town where our coffee comes from has over 150 years of history in coffee production? Throughout history, many changes occurred. Following the Wall Street Crash of 1929, which affected Brazilian farmers, the main farm and processing facilities had to be handed over to the Brazilian government to pay debts. The area then received a lot of investment to build research facilities, improving Brazil’s agriculture and sustainable practices. Nowadays the old processing facility is home to one of the top agriculture, veterinary and medicine university in Brazil, and part of the area is a museum. But with such a long history, great soil and climate, Botucatu still produces the best coffee in Brazil. The museum is closed due to COVID restrictions, but here are some pictures so you can have a glimpse of where it all began.
