Bit of an idea I had during the house build to use an old Railway Sleeper as a pendant light. Rummaged thru the pile and found the most tattered one I could find - dropped it off at Tom Hoffman furniture and let him work his magic. Good Conduct electrical found a rope style electrical cable and some Edison lamps to complete the idea.

We then milled up some railway sleepers and dried and dressed them and took them to Sam’s Fine Furniture in Toowoomba to create an island bench. These sleepers are from where the tracks start to split apart so they’re a whopping 3.5M long.

Really happy with the result - it’s also a great example of up cycling discarded Australian hardwoods for the next generation.

Certificate II in Furniture Making Pathways student Bau Boston has finished a beautiful Hall Table. Students use hand tools and fixed and portable tooling and equipment to produce these high-quality products.
A great thanks to Shulte Sawmill for donating ironbark and other hardwoods for students to utilise and all to appreciate.

Brrrr! It’s cold today! But I was too excited not to share this with you all! Running a small business has its ups and downs and sometimes the little things get you excited and make you realise how far you’ve come. Today, our new branded plastic wrap arrived! Whahoo!
