If the Australian bush could arrive at someone’s door in a vase, it may look a little like this.

This Bush Baby Vase headed out on delivery this week, and I am absolutely loving the natives we have available at the moment.

This one had a little seasonal twist.
Instead of ruscus, I used kangaroo paw, and honestly… I love what it added.
That extra bit of height.
That golden warmth.
That very Australian, slightly wild feeling.
Filled with beautiful banksias, leucadendrons, sea holly, gum, magnolia foliage and all that gorgeous native texture, Bush Baby is one of those arrangements that never feels too polished or too perfect.

And that is exactly why I love her.
She feels earthy.

She loved our Harmony Bouquet… but wanted it with a little more softness.
And this is exactly why I love when customers call the shop.

Our Harmony Bouquet is usually known for its fresh whites and greens.
Clean.
Elegant.
Peaceful.
Beautifully classic.
But this customer wanted something inspired by Harmony, just not completely white.
So we softened her with pink.
Pink snapdragons.
Soft pink disbud chrysanthemums.
White oriental lilies, still in bud and ready to open.
Queen Anne’s lace.
Fresh foliage.
And all that beautiful movement that makes Harmony feel so full and graceful.

Once those lilies open, this bouquet is going to be even more stunning.

That is the lovely thing about flowers made by hand.

A little pause before the next fresh flower rush.
Hidden Florist will be taking a short break from Thursday 17th September and will reopen on Tuesday 22nd September at 9am.
That means we will be closed:

Monday 21st
We are open today and tomorrow, so if you need something beautiful before we close, please order online, call the shop or pop in-store.
Over the past little while, I’ve been taking a few more planned breaks than I used to.
And honestly, that has come from learning how to keep Hidden Florist sustainable while the day-to-day of the business is currently carried by one pair of hands.
This little flower shop has grown into something I am incredibly proud of.
A busy retail store.
A same-day delivery service.
A trusted place for birthdays, sympathy flowers, thank you gifts, corporate flowers, last-minute rescues, beautiful candles, cards, chocolates and all the little moments people ask us to help them show up for.
And with that comes a lot.
A lot of love.
A lot of responsibility.
A lot of moving pieces.
A lot of care behind every single order.
So I’m learning that small pauses matter.
Not because the love for the shop is any less.
Because the love for it is exactly why I want to keep showing up with fresh energy, clear hands and the care our customers know us for.

Some people never kick the goal, take the mark, blow the whistle or lift the trophy… but the season wouldn’t happen without them.
Presentation season is here, and we have been honoured to create so many presentation bouquets and thank you bouquets for local sporting clubs.
Because behind every team is a whole group of people keeping everything moving.
The volunteers.
The committee members.
The coaches.
The team managers.
The canteen helpers.

until I walked through the door.

Last call for our Winter Wonder Bouquet before spring takes over.

Winter Wonder has had such a beautiful run this season.
Soft pink snapdragons.
Oriental lilies ready to open.
Full disbud chrysanthemums.
That gorgeous moody kale.
Lush foliage.

She’s one of those bouquets that feels pretty, but not too sweet.
