Creating with the Scalloped Doily Border & Frame Punch

I’ve been having another play with the beautiful Scalloped Doily Border & Frame Punch, and this time I created two jumbo flowers to feature on my one-photo layout!

I love finding different ways to use our punches beyond their original design. I even used the Scalloped Doily Punch to create the leaves to coordinate with the flowers.
For the finishing touches, I used a white gel pen to add faux stitching around the flowers, then added a little sparkle with gems in the centres.

Creating with the Scalloped Doily Border & Frame Punch

I finally got the chance to open my Secret Box #3 and have a play with the beautifully designed Scalloped Doily Border & Frame Punch — and I absolutely love the gorgeous detail it creates!

For my layout, I started with a 12” x 12” Raspberry Cardstock and trimmed it to create a 1-3/4” frame. I then used the Scalloped Doily Border & Frame Punch around the frame to give it that beautiful decorative edge.

And of course, I couldn’t waste the leftover cardstock! From the centre, I trimmed an 8” x 8” square and punched around all four sides to create a second Scalloped Doily frame, which I added to the centre of my page layout.

Another lovely feature of this punch is the sweet little hearts created from the punched pieces — perfect for adding extra embellishments to your layout.

Creating with the Leftovers!

Who else loves finding ways to use up those leftover pieces after creating a few layouts?

Using my Summer Luxe leftovers, I was able to create along with Jenny Mancini and her fabulous Scrappy Fireworks Page Layout.

Such a fun way to use those smaller scraps of designer paper and turn them into a colourful single-page layout. I love seeing how leftover pieces can come together to create something completely new!

Definitely a great reminder — don’t throw those scraps away! You never know what you can create with them.

Creating with Summer Luxe!!

I’ve been enjoying creating a few more page layouts with the gorgeous Summer Luxe Collection.

Following the Summer Luxe Guide Booklet, I was able to complete several layouts, as well as create a couple more using Noreen Smith’s prompt techniques for inspiration.

I just love the colour palette in this collection — beautiful shades of green, yellow, orange and brown, mixed with a wonderful variety of patterns and designs. They all work so beautifully together and make it easy to create layouts with a warm, summery feel.

Sometimes it’s lovely to follow a guide, and other times a creative prompt is just what you need to get those ideas flowing!
