Although time balls are an obsolete method of time signalling nowadays, we found beauty in the fact that not only does our home town of Sydney have one of on a few fully operation time balls worldwide, but also their historical importance in allowing ships to set their marine chronometers which gave them the luxury of accurately calculating their longitude while at sea. resents the intricacy of beauty and balance. To us, timepieces are the modern day abacuses; an engineering symphony. Potentially hundreds (Patek Philippe Calibre 89 has 1728!) of individually manufactured pieces collaborating symbiotically with precious stones to accurate allow the time to sometimes within 1 second a week. What’s not to love? Every aspect of a Tempus Pilam piece is deliberate.
