If someone were to ask you why do you celebrate Fiji Day? In short, below is why ⬇️. October 10 1970 marked the end of British colonial rule and the birth of a self governing nation. How amazing it would've been to witness this occasion at the time. Happy Fiji Day 🇫🇯😎

Na noqu vosa: me na tekivu mai vale” My language starts at home.
And apparently… so do all my arguments. 😂

“Kauta mai na isele!” (Bring the knife!)
“Sa katakata tu na wai!” (The water’s hot!)
“Kauta tani na isulu qo!” (Move these clothes!)

Whether you’re in the rumu ni moce (bedroom), vale ni sili (bathroom), or vale ni kuro (kitchen), there’s a Fijian word waiting to be learned (or shouted by mum).

Let’s bring Fijian back home — one funny household word at a time.

Tonight, we’re ending our Sunday the island way with a short prayer, a simple hymn, and a few Vosa VakaViti (Fijian words) to fill our hearts and homes. 💛

Whether you speak fluently or you’re just starting your journey — remember, every word is a seed of identity. 🌱
Speak it. Sing it. Pray it.
Because the Fijian language isn’t just learned, it’s lived. 🕊️
