There's something incredibly special about seeing an artwork finally at home.

This is Peony Grace, and her journey to Carly's home began a little differently from a traditional bespoke commission.

Peony Grace began as one of my original designs, created for collectors to select and have individually brought to life as a made-to-order artwork.

Carly chose the design she loved, and from there I transformed it into a finished physical piece through hand-painting, layered detail, texture and luminous gold accents.

While the original composition provides the foundation, every made-to-order artwork is individually hand-finished, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Each develops its own character through the making process.

And then came one of my favourite parts, seeing her in her new home. 🤍

Carly's message made my day:
"I am obsessed!! Thank you SO much again! She looks amazing in this space."

Seeing Peony Grace hanging in the space she was chosen for was such a beautiful full-circle moment.

Thank you, Carly, for choosing my work, trusting me to bring her to life for you, and allowing me to share these photographs.

If you've been looking for an original artwork for your own space, there are two ways we can create something together:

✨ Choose one of my existing made-to-order designs and have it individually brought to life for you.
✨ Or work with me on a bespoke commission tailored to your vision and space.

All three found their homes. 🤍

One of the things I love most about the Incognito Art Show is what it strips away.
No artist names. No biographies. No reputations attached to the work.
Just thousands of original artworks and the simple question: which one speaks to you?

This year, I contributed three small original works: Ascend, Release, and Stillness, and I'm incredibly happy to share that all three were chosen by collectors.

But Incognito is about so much more than selling art.
The exhibition makes owning an original artwork accessible to a much wider audience, while raising funds to support programs for artists living with disability. It also gives emerging and established artists the same A5-sized space on the wall, allowing the artwork itself to lead the conversation.

There's something quite beautiful about being part of an event built around that idea.
And to the three collectors who chose one of my pieces amongst thousands of others — thank you. 🤍
I hope Ascend, Release and Stillness bring you as much joy in their new homes as I had creating them.

A milestone I never imagined when I first returned to painting.

I'm honoured to share that Luxe Wall Art by Lisa has been featured in Fine Art News in an editorial article exploring my journey, artistic influences and the evolution of my contemporary mixed-media practice.

The feature reflects on the experiences that shaped my work, from a lifelong appreciation of beauty, fashion, and self-expression to the creation of artworks that combine portraiture, texture, and hand-applied gold leaf.

It also highlights my upcoming participation in The Pop-Up Project in Los Angeles this September, an exciting opportunity to introduce my work to an international audience.

As someone balancing a full-time career while building an art practice, moments like this are especially meaningful. They are a reminder that every artwork created, every commission completed, and every supporter who has followed the journey has helped make opportunities like this possible.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

LOS ANGELES • SEPTEMBER 2026

A little over a year ago, Luxe Wall Art by Lisa didn't exist.

What began as a personal creative outlet has grown into a journey filled with opportunities, challenges, lessons, and moments I never imagined possible.

This September, I'm incredibly excited to share that I will be participating in The Pop-Up Project: Voltage of Hope in Los Angeles.

As an Australian mixed-media artist, I find the opportunity to exhibit internationally and share my work with a global audience both exciting and a little surreal.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey so far. Whether you've followed along from the beginning, purchased an artwork, visited me at a market, shared a post, or simply offered words of encouragement, you've been part of this journey too.

I can't wait to share more over the coming months.

Los Angeles, here we come.

Before I launched Luxe Wall Art by Lisa, I spent almost 30 years working alongside CEOs, Managing Directors and senior leadership teams across a range of industries.

At the time, I thought I was building a career in executive support.

Looking back, I realise I was also receiving an incredible education in leadership, business and resilience.

Many of the lessons that helped me launch Luxe Wall Art by Lisa didn't come from art school.

They came from observing great leaders.
- Show up consistently.
- Build strong relationships.
- Stay curious.
- Learn as you go.
- Back yourself.

When I started Luxe Wall Art, I had never built a website, worked with SEO or applied genuine gold leaf.

But I had spent years watching successful people tackle challenges they didn't yet know how to solve.

They learned.

So, I did too.

Building a business while working full-time hasn't always been easy, but it's been one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.

Looking back, I'm grateful for the lessons, experiences and leaders who helped shape the path.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that it's never too late to start building something that matters to you.

What's one lesson you've learned throughout your career that still guides you today?

Most people only see the finished artwork.

What they don't see is everything that happens before the first layer of paint.

Verdant Reverie began as a simple sketch and an idea.

Before I could paint the gown, every section had to be planned, measured and created by hand.

The dimensional dress wasn't painted onto the canvas.

It was constructed from canvas itself.

Each piece was individually cut, shaped and positioned to create movement, depth and structure.

Once the form was complete, the surface was primed and prepared for painting.

Layer by layer, colour began to bring the artwork to life.

Deep teals, rich magentas and soft highlights were carefully added to emphasise the folds and movement within the gown.

To complete the piece, genuine 24K gold leaf was applied by hand, creating reflections that change as the light moves across the artwork.

From the first sketch to the final gold leaf detail, Verdant Reverie took more than 100 hours to create.

Not because it had to.

Because every detail mattered.

Verdant Reverie is an original mixed-media artwork, 90x120cm, combining acrylic painting, dimensional canvas construction and genuine 24K gold leaf.

Imagine this in your space.

Most people only see the finished artwork.

What they don't usually see is the gold leaf stage.

After painting the petals, I carefully apply adhesive around selected edges before laying each piece of gold leaf by hand. Once the excess is brushed away, the flower starts to catch the light in a completely different way.

This commission is now in its final stages, and I can't wait for to see these gold leaf details when she's back from the USA.

I don't use gold leaf just because it looks beautiful. I use it to draw attention to certain details and create highlights that change as the light moves across the painting. It's one of my favourite parts of the process because it gives the artwork a completely different feeling depending on the time of day and where you're standing.

One year ago, I officially registered Luxe Wall Art by Lisa.

What many people don't know is that my journey with art started long before that.

In 2001, I painted a portrait of my mother from a photograph taken when she was 16. At the time, I had no idea that one day I would return to painting and build a business around it.

Life took me in a different direction. I built a career, spent decades supporting CEOs and leadership teams, and focused on helping other people achieve their goals.

But the creative spark never completely disappeared.

Twenty-five years later, I picked up a brush again.

What started as a simple desire to create became late nights in the studio, learning new techniques, experimenting with gold leaf, building a website, attending markets, creating content, and sharing my artwork with the world.

Today, Luxe Wall Art by Lisa turns 1.

To everyone who has followed, supported, encouraged, purchased an artwork, shared a post, joined my VIP list, or simply cheered me on from the sidelines, thank you.

This first year has taught me that it is never too late to return to something you love.

And I can't wait to see where the next year takes us.

Gold leaf artwork is one of the most misunderstood materials in fine art.

Many people see the metallic finish, but very few understand what actually creates the movement, reflection, atmosphere, and presence that gold leaf artwork brings into a space.

I’ve just released a new collector guide exploring:
• what gold leaf actually is
• genuine vs composition leaf
• how metallic surfaces interact with light
• why texture changes reflection
• metallic colour psychology
• how collectors choose finishes for interiors
• why gold leaf artwork feels completely different in person

This guide was created to help collectors better understand the craftsmanship, materials, and visual behaviour behind reflective metallic artwork , and why these surfaces create such a powerful emotional response inside a room.

Whether you’re discovering gold leaf for the first time or refining an existing collection, this resource is designed to educate, inspire, and help you see metallic artwork differently.

Explore the full Collector Guide via the tagged Collector Resource.

Save this for your future dream space or send this to someone who loves statement interiors.

I submitted my first artworks for the Incognito Art Show.

For anyone who hasn't heard of it, Incognito is an incredible Australian charity art show where every artwork is exhibited anonymously to support artists and arts programs.

No names.
No recognition.
No artist revealed.
Just art.

There's something beautifully vulnerable about creating work that must speak entirely for itself, without anyone knowing who created it.

Yesterday, these little artworks left my hands anonymously… waiting for someone to connect with them purely because they felt something.

And honestly, I love that.
