Today, my heart is just full of gratitude.
I’ve been quiet on socials this year, and I feel ready now to share why.
The week before Christmas, our lives almost took a completely different path. En route to our new chapter in the South Burnett region, my husband was involved in what could have easily been a fatal accident. While his car did not survive the impatience of another driver, someone was truly watching over him that morning. We are so incredibly blessed that he was able to walk away with a fractured arm and fractured ribs. What should have been a celebratory start instead became a six-month journey of physical and emotional healing.
Our businesses took a hit too, with stock and equipment damaged in the crash. We’ve spent the last few months quietly replacing, repairing, and rebuilding.
Through it all, our new home has been our sanctuary. Just before Christmas, we bought a neglected but once-loved house in a quiet neighbourhood, surrounded by fruit trees and beautiful birdlife. Since moving, we’ve expanded our family and welcomed our second rescue puppy. Watching our two pups explore the backyard—red mud and all—has brought us so much joy. The unconditional love we all share has been our anchor. We truly feel like we've all been given a second chance.
Slowly but surely, we’ve been chipping away at making this house a warm, welcoming, and healing space. In many ways, this forgotten house reflects our own journey. Our entryway is almost finished, and it is quickly becoming one of my absolute favourite spots.
I’ve gently taken the lead and named our property The Kintsugi Acre—in honour of the safe harbour it has provided for broken pieces to heal beautifully together. One of my favourite pieces, the entry buffet, was also damaged in the travel and will receive it's care soon.
Thank you for finding us in this space. We are surrounded by love, and we can’t wait to share our next chapter with you all very soon.
