Earl Grey tea is wrapped in legend: some say it was a gift to the 2nd Earl grey after a heroic rescue in China while others believe the blend was named after him later. Either way, the story is as rich as the tea itself.

We had a wonderful week with our family from Melbourne.
Our grandson was a tremendous help offering potential customers a taste of
Tropical Reviver. He was able to tell them the ingredients and benefits of the tea.

This coming Sunday we will be at Cotters market again offering tasting of a different tea.
8am to 1pm

A visit from family members is always very special.

We will still be at Cotters market on Sunday 8am to 1pm.

My grandson is very keen to be involved.
I believe he will be very good at giving out samples of Tropical Reviver for you to taste.

Tropical Reviver is an herbal blend that has Vitamin C. The blend has Hibiscus, rosehip, lemon myrtle, olive leaf, honey bush and elderberries. Ideal for this time of the year as it helps build immunity.

It is suitable for all the family as it does not have caffeine and may be served hot or cold.

At Townsville Tea Company we specialise in loose leaf teas.

The tea is more flavoursome, ideal if you are looking for a really good cup of tea.

Recently there has been a focus on teabags as scientists are discovering the micro plastics contained in tea bags, even if the bag has the appearance of paper.

A review in 'Food Chemistry' reported scientists saying that a tea bag can release a billion plastic particles into your cup of tea during the brewing process.

This information is spreading as more and more people are asking me how they can change to drinking loose leaf tea.

The options are:
- to use an infuser (think of it as a reusable tea bag),
- to use an infuser mug; the tea is brewed in the mug (which has a lid, so the tea stays hot for the 3 minutes it is brewing), then the infuser is removed and you have a cup without the tea leaves.
- to use a teapot, this is the way your parents and grandparents made their tea.

Tomorrow, FRIDAY 26th we will have our pop-up at Castletown.

Certainly, is the Season for events in Townsville.

This SUNDAY at Cotters Market is Tartan Day. There is a lot happening.
One definitely not to be missed is the Clan Parade at 10.30am.

All the stall holders will be there ready when the market opens at 8am then the Tartan day events will happen throughout the morning.
There will be more people and excitement. Come and join the fun.

WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY we will be at Castletown between The Coffee club and Best & Less.
We will have Green Tale Publishing books and some by other Townsville authors as well as Townsville Tea Company Teas and accessories.

Last weekend was a busy one with the Rotary Strand market Friday night and the Eco fiesta on Sunday.

It was great to catch up with existing customers returning for their favourite teas and a chat.
I also spent considerable time talking to others who expressed an interest in changing from using tea bags to loose leaf tea. Information is certainly beginning to circulate about the microplastics found in tea bags.

This SUNDAY we will be at Cotters market in the city, 8am to 1pm.

Wholelife HealthFoods (Fairfield Central) will be open every day if you are looking for our 40g packets of tea.
