Wrinkles aren’t “just age”, they’re basically your skin’s collagen + elastin getting a little tired plus life leaving its cute little receipts.

So what actually causes wrinkles? The big ones:

- Sun (UV) damage: the #1 wrinkle-maker. UV breaks down collagen + elastin and creates that “crepey” texture over time.
- Collagen loss with age: from our mid-late 20s we naturally produce less collagen each year, so skin doesn’t bounce back as fast.
- Repeated facial movement: smiling, frowning, squinting = expression lines (totally normal, totally human).
- Dehydration + impaired barrier: when your skin barrier is weak, fine lines look deeper because skin looks thinner and more “crumpled.”
- Lifestyle + inflammation: smoking/vaping, poor sleep, stress, high sugar/low nutrient diets can all accelerate glycation and dullness.
- Menopause/perimenopause shifts: hormones change how your skin holds water and builds collagen (hello dryness + fine lines).

When do wrinkles start?
Most people notice the first fine lines in their late 20s to early 30s, especially around the eyes (crow’s feet) and forehead, usually from UV + expression + dehydration. Deeper lines tend to show up more through the 30s-40s, and texture/crepiness becomes more obvious when skin is drier or hormonally shifting.

How to prevent (and soften) wrinkles without freaking out about ageing
My pro-ageing approach is: protect, build, hydrate, stimulate.👇

Skincare basics that actually work:

1. SPF 50+ every single day (yes, even driving to Woolies)
2. Vitamin C (AM) to support collagen + brighten
3. Bakuchiol (PM) a gentle, plant-based collagen-supporting alternative to retinol for smoother texture + fine lines
4. LA Cleanser (Lactic Acid) to softly exfoliate, brighten dullness and help skin look smoother (without harsh scrubbing)
5. Barrier love: like Hydra3 Lift Cream, ceramides, peptides, fatty acids, squalane - plumps lines by improving hydration + resilience
6. Consistent hydration: humectants + a good moisturiser to reduce that “crinkled” look

Treatments that make a real difference:

- IPL Skin Rejuvenation: targets sun damage, redness, pigment → smoother, clearer “less aged” look
- RF Microneedling (eg: Secret RF): stimulates collagen + firms for lines + laxity
- LED: calming, healing, collagen-supportive (amazing as a maintenance treatment)
- Skin consultation + AI scan: so we’re treating your skin, not guessing.

Bottom line: wrinkles start earlier than people think but prevention is simple when you’re consistent. And remember… skin with lines is still beautiful skin. It just deserves good support.

Stop overcomplicating your skincare, here's 5 easy steps to good skin (the kind that looks calm, hydrated, and alive):

1) Oil Cleanser
Melts off makeup, SPF and grime without stripping your barrier. Clean skin = better skin.

2) Hydra3 Smoothie
Your gentle polish for smoother texture + brighter glow. Think fresh skin energy, not harsh scrubbing.

3) Hydra3 Booster
A deep drink of hydration that helps plump and soften the look of fine dehydration lines. Apply to slightly damp skin.

4) Hydra3 Lift Cream
Locks it all in. Nourishes, supports the barrier, and gives that juicy, comfortable finish.

5) SPF (every single morning)
Your future skin will thank you. This is the real anti-ageing step - protection first, always.

Save this for your next what am I even doing? moment

New year energy hits different when you choose an intention, not a punishment.

Every January I love setting one clear resolution that feels like a gentle direction… not a pressure cooker. Something that brings me back to myself daily.

My favourite kind?
“I’m going to care for my skin (and body) like it’s on my team.”

Because healthy, glowy skin isn’t a one-night miracle, it’s tiny consistent choices:
- A glass of water before coffee.
- A walk to clear your head.
- Cleansing properly at night.
- Moisturising like you mean it.
- SPF like a non-negotiable.
- And speaking to yourself with kindness while you do it.

So here’s your Peachy intention prompt for 2026:

What do you want more of this year and what’s one small habit that proves it?

Mine is: Consistency over perfection.
Little rituals. Big glow.

If you want, comment “PEACHY” and I’ll reply with a simple skin intention you can steal (based on your skin vibe).

Hydra3 Booster is the big drink of water your skin wishes it could order on tap

If your skin feels tight, dull, makeup sits weird, or you’ve got that dry, crinkly look that comes from dehydration (not age) this is your step that changes everything.

Hyaluronic Acid is the hydration magnet. It pulls water into the skin to help it look plumper, smoother, and more bouncy. (Hot tip: it works best when you apply it to slightly damp skin, then seal it in with moisturiser.)

Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) is your calm + strengthen vitamin. It supports the skin barrier, helps reduce redness and irritation, and can visibly improve uneven tone and the look of enlarged pores over time.

Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) is the comfort blanket. It helps soothe, soften, and support repair - perfect when your skin is feeling sensitive, stressed, or a little reactive.

How to use: after cleansing, apply Hydra3 Booster (damp skin is best), then follow with your moisturiser to lock in that hydration. Morning and night. Easy. Consistent. Very peachy.

Dehydrated skin doesn’t need punishment, it needs support.
Comment HYDRA and I’ll tell you exactly how to layer it for your skin type

This year I’m choosing skin + nervous system health… not hustle.

My Holistic New Year Reset looks like this:

Good skin = consistency over chaos. Cleanse, hydrate, moisturise, SPF. Repeat.
Relax = daily downshifts (breathwork, quiet showers, legs up the wall, walks).
Less social media = no scrolling first thing, and no doom-scroll before bed.
More books = one page a day (because one page becomes a whole book).
Mindful living = feeling my life again… not racing through it.

Because your skin isn’t just “products”… it’s sleep, stress, sunlight, food, hormones, and how you treat yourself when no one’s watching.

If you’re making one gentle change this year, let it be this:
choose rituals that restore you.

What’s your 2026 intention - calm, glow, strength, clarity, or confidence?

Happy New Year’s Eve, my loves 🥂

Wherever you’re celebrating tonight out with your people, dancing in the kitchen, or wrapped up on the couch, I hope you let yourself enjoy it. Breathe it in. You made it through 2025, and that deserves a little sparkle.

And honestly.. I’ve got the best feeling about 2026. Fresh energy. Clearer boundaries. More joy. More “I’m choosing me” moments. The kind of year where you feel good in your skin, inside and out.

Be safe, be kind to yourself, and go into the new year with hope in your pocket and a little glow on your cheeks.

Hello 2026… let’s make it a beautiful one.

Vitiligo happens when the skin’s pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) slow down or stop creating colour - leaving beautiful, unique patterns that are completely your own.

It’s not harmful or contagious - it’s simply your immune system expressing itself in a different way. The skin still deserves (and needs!) the same gentle love, hydration, and protection.

Those lighter patches? They tell your story - a living artwork of resilience and individuality.

Your skin isn’t flawed. It’s fascinating. It’s yours.

Merry Christmas from Peachface Skincare

I just want to say a heartfelt thank you for supporting my little business this year. Every order, message, comment, share, and recommendation has genuinely meant the world. Peachface isn’t “just skincare” to me, it’s something I’ve poured my time, care, and love into, and I’m so grateful it’s found its way into your routines (and onto your beautiful faces).

Thank you for choosing small, for backing local, and for letting me be a part of your skin journey. I hope your Christmas is filled with cosy moments, good food, soft skin, and a little extra glow.

With love,
Lyndall

23/12/2025

TEWL is one of the biggest reasons skin can feel dry even when you’re “doing all the right things.” It stands for transepidermal water loss, which is just a fancy way of saying your skin is quietly losing water into the air through the surface of the skin. It’s normal for some water to escape, but when the skin barrier is stressed, that water loss speeds up… and the glow disappears.

When TEWL is high, skin often feels tight after cleansing, looks a bit dull, and can even swing between oily and dehydrated at the same time. That’s because your skin might be producing oil to protect itself, but it still can’t hold onto water properly. Aircon, wind, heat, hot showers, over-cleansing, and over-exfoliating can all make TEWL worse because they disrupt the barrier that’s designed to keep hydration in.

Here’s the key: hydration isn’t only about adding water to the skin. Dewy, comfortable skin comes from reducing the “leak.” That’s why layering matters. Water-based hydration helps bind moisture inside the skin, but you also need barrier-supporting lipids to seal it in so it doesn’t evaporate. Think of it as filling the glass, then putting the lid on.

Your skin doesn’t “randomly” get dry… it leaks hydration.
And dewy skin is basically the art of keeping the water in.

How skin stays hydrated (aka holds the glow)

Your skin barrier is like a brick wall:
Skin cells = bricks
Lipids (fats) = mortar
When that “mortar” is healthy, your skin holds onto water, stays bouncy, and looks smooth + dewy.

Your skin also uses:
Natural Moisturising Factors NMFs (like tiny water magnets) to pull hydration into the skin
Lipids to seal it in so it doesn’t evaporate

How skin loses hydration (aka why you wake up looking “meh”)

Hydration escapes through something called TEWL (transepidermal water loss) - basically water evaporating from your skin when the barrier is compromised.

Common “hydration thieves”:

Hot showers + over-cleansing
Too many actives / over-exfoliating
Aircon + summer heat + wind
Not sealing your serum (hydration without lipids = it evaporates)
Barrier damage from harsh products or inconsistent routines

The Peachface Dewy Rule

Hydrate first → Seal second.
Water-based hydration + lipid-rich moisture = that lasting glow.

If you want, tell me your skin type (dry/oily/sensitive) and I’ll write a Peachface routine order for “all-day dewy.”
