At our last artisan group morning tea...I was encouraged to make some baby bonnets with a similar pattern to my teapot cosies. I love this wool from Adagio Mills It is beautiful to knit with and it isn't scratchy at all. I see so many baby clothes made out of synthetic yarn because of "itchy" wool. I think because they have the alpaca and merino mix it just isn't scratchy at all. Just this beautiful texture and no plastic wash either (NO Superwash). I also love that the mill is in NSW and the alpaca 🦙 and merino yarn is from NSW too. So I'll pop these in my shop shortly.. I'll make a few different colours first. Amanda xx

Celebrating 60 sales on Madeit this week after opening just over a year ago.
It has been a huge learning curve between selling in our local handmade artisan shop and Madeit. Both have their challenges.
Lucky for me, I love making teapot cosies as they have become very popular and my hearts sell out in our local shop. Whilst I've had 60 orders - most orders have included at least 2-5 items...
So, whilst I'm still on a break... (home this weekend), I'm still knitting away and have had several custom orders this week for some very special teapot cosies.

Personalised Hearts — A Little Story Behind Them
Making hearts began as a way to spread more love… and to use up the tiny leftover pieces of material from my larger projects. They were such a joy to make — and such a success in our local handmade store — that over the years I’ve slowly perfected the shape, the curves, and the way each fabric behaves. Every material has its own personality, and each heart feels like a small treasure.

About a year ago, I started stuffing them with Australian wool, and it changed everything — they became softer, more natural, and even more meaningful to make.

For a long time I’ve dreamed of personalising them. And now, with an upgrade in sewing machines, I can finally offer names and words (this option is coming) stitched directly onto the heart.

To celebrate, I’m offering a little special for the first 10 orders — $12 each — and then they’ll return to their usual price.
Not because I don’t value handmade, but because making more helps me refine my systems, get faster, and perfect the process.
