🚛🏺 JOSH IS LEAVING THE SHED… WITH STUFF STILL IN THE TRAILER?! 🏺🚛

Now this is a rare sight.

Usually when Josh leaves the shed with a trailer, it’s empty… because apparently an empty trailer is a personal challenge that needs fixing. 😂

But not today!

This morning Josh is Sydney bound with 30-odd boxes of porcelain packed into the trailer and ready for the next chapter.

After weeks of unpacking, wrapping, sorting, researching and occasionally wondering why on earth we thought buying an enormous porcelain collection was a sensible idea… 😂 a big chunk of it is officially heading off to auction to be re-homed with collectors around Australia.

A massive thank you to Barsby Auction House for helping us tackle this absolute mountain of porcelain and giving these pieces the opportunity to find their next homes.

There’s something pretty satisfying about watching treasures that spent years tucked away in a collection head off to start another chapter.

Sydney, here we come! 🚛💨

Although knowing Josh, the real question is…

Will the trailer still be empty on the trip home? 👀😂

☕️ Hundreds of Tiny Cups... One Very Big Problem... ☕️

Remember that shipping container Josh bought from the passionate porcelain collector?

Well... we've reached the point where the shop now contains enough teacups to host afternoon tea for what feels like the entire population of Wagga. 😂

Every time we unpack another box, we confidently declare, "Surely that's the last of them..."
..then another box appears.

Some are elegant. Some are quirky. Some are dainty enough to make you feel guilty for drinking out of them. Others have probably spent the last 70 years patiently waiting for someone to put the kettle on again.

The good news? They are finally ready for their next home!

Whether you're replacing a family heirloom, collecting your favourite pattern, creating a mismatched vintage set, or just want an excuse to invite people over for tea and scones... we've got you covered.

☕ Trio's (Cup, Saucer & Plate) $20 each or 3 for $50

☕ Duo's (Cup & Saucer) $15 each or 3 for $35

There are hundreds to choose from, with beautiful floral patterns, English china, Royal Family commemoratives, and plenty of hidden gems still waiting to be discovered.

Fair warning though... most people walk in saying, "I'm just having a quick look."

Twenty minutes later they're still debating between the pink roses, blue forget-me-nots and gold trim. 😅

Message us to arrange a time to come have a look.

See you at Buried Treasure... where apparently Josh accidentally opened the world's largest pop-up tea party. ☕😂

🥶 THE FRIDAY DIG IS ON! 🥶

Current temperature: -1°C Feels like: -3°C

In other words... it's the sort of morning where you question every life decision that led you outside. 😂

Meanwhile, Josh looked at that weather report and thought...

"Sleep and warmth? Sounds overrated."

So instead of getting a sensible night's sleep, he spent half the night digging through storage unit treasures so there'd be even more for you to rummage through this morning. Was it a smart decision? Absolutely not. Was it worth it? We'll find out after the third coffee. ☕🤣

Fresh out this week: 🪓 Vintage hand tools 🪓 Axe heads 🔨 Hammers, braces, files, planes and all sorts of old workshop treasures 🚲 Vintage bikes 🚗 Diecast models 🎲 Games & books 🏺 Vintage homewares 🎄 Random treasures (because it wouldn't be Buried Treasure without them!)

Prices start from as little as $2 each.

The heaters are on, the coffee's hot, and the hunt is ready to begin.

Come for "just a quick look..."

Leave three hours later carrying an axe head, a vintage biscuit tin, a 1960s toy truck, and somehow a lamp you never knew you needed. That's just how The Friday Dig works. 😂

Just rock up, grab what you want, and give it a second life before it ends up elsewhere.

🏺 THE GREAT PORCELAIN INVASION… AND IT’S ABOUT TO LEAVE! 🏺

If you’ve been into Buried Treasure lately, you’ve probably noticed one tiny problem…

WE HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY INVADED BY CERAMICS. 😂

Hundreds upon hundreds of figurines, character jugs, animals, Royal memorabilia, glassware and collectables have taken over the place. Royal Doulton, Beswick, Lladró, NAO, Royal Worcester, Coalport and plenty more.

After unpacking, sorting and staring at what can only be described as a small ceramic army, Josh has finally made a decision.

The collection is being SPLIT UP.

🔨 A large portion will be heading off to specialist auction houses
📦 Selected pieces will make their way onto our eBay store
🏺 And plenty will remain available through Buried Treasure

BUT… before the trucks start getting loaded and a huge chunk of it disappears off to auction, you’ve got a chance to get in first.

Most of it IS NOT PRICED.

There’s simply too much of it for Josh to individually research and price everything before it leaves.

So if something catches your eye, come down TODAY between 8AM – 2PM, point at it and say:

👉 “Josh… how much for this one?”

He’ll happily work out a price for you on the spot.

And yes… you may need to point carefully.

There are only about 847 figurines standing directly beside it. 😂😂

⏰ OPEN TODAY 8AM – 2PM

If you’re a collector, reseller, Royal Doulton tragic or just someone who has an unexplained need for 14 porcelain ladies in enormous dresses…

TODAY is the day to come digging.

Once the auction-bound pieces are packed up and shipped away, they’re gone.

🏺🚛 THE LAST TRAILER HAS LANDED… AND NOW THE REAL TREASURE HUNT BEGINS! 🚛🏺

There are pickups…

There are BIG pickups…

And then there are the ones where, halfway through, you stand there looking around and think:

“What the hell have I gotten myself into?” 😂

After trailer load… after trailer load… after carefully wrapping, packing and transporting what feels like an entire lifetime of collecting…

The final trailer load has officially arrived at Buried Treasure & Collectables.

And what a collection this has turned out to be.

Hundreds upon hundreds of pieces.

Royal Doulton figurines stretching across tables like they’re waiting for roll call.

Royal commemorative mugs… everywhere.

Boxed collectables stacked on top of boxed collectables.

Wedgwood.

Porcelain.

China.

Diecast cars.

Vintage pieces.

And boxes we haven’t even properly investigated yet.

Every time I think I’ve got my head around the size of this collection, another box gets opened and suddenly there’s another rabbit hole to disappear down.

But getting it here was only Chapter One.

Now comes the HUGE job.

🔎 Identifying
📚 Researching
🏷️ Cataloguing
💰 Valuing
👀 And working out exactly what treasures are hiding amongst it all.

Some pieces may be worth $20.

Some may be worth hundreds.

And somewhere amongst this mountain of porcelain could be something genuinely special that we haven’t even recognised yet.

That’s the part of this business I love.

You just don’t know until you start digging.

This collection represents years, probably decades, of someone carefully collecting things that interested them, and now it has all landed in one place for us to unravel piece by piece.

It’s overwhelming.

It’s slightly ridiculous.

I have absolutely no idea where I’m going to put half of it.

But bloody hell…

This is exactly why we’re called BURIED TREASURE. 😂🏺

The transport is finally finished.

Now the research begins.

And I have a feeling you’re going to be seeing some very interesting treasures coming out of this collection over the next little while… 👀

Stay tuned.

We’ve got some serious digging to do. 🔎🏴‍☠️

🥶 FRIDAY DIG IS ON! 🥶

The heater is on, and the treasures are waiting to be uncovered at Buried Treasure & Collectables this Friday from 8am - 2pm at 9 Railway Street, Wagga.

We've got: 🪙 Collectables 🛋 Furniture 👟 Shoes 🎮 Games 🃏 Trading cards 💎 Jewellery 📦 Random treasures that even we forgot we had ...and probably a few things that will make you say, "Where on earth did you get that?"

⚠️ A quick public service announcement:

The front room will be temporarily CLOSED because Josh went and did a Josh thing.

Honestly, he's not even entirely sure what he's done.

At some point during the week a perfectly reasonable plan somehow turned into mountains of boxes, mystery tubs, piles that made sense at the time, and enough unpacking and sorting to keep a small army busy.

The good news? There are HEAPS of boxes still to unpack.

The bad news? There are HEAPS of boxes still to unpack.

So while operation "What was I thinking?" continues behind the scenes, the front room will remain closed while we sort, unpack, price and attempt to restore some form of order to the chaos.

If all goes well, there should be plenty of fresh treasures hitting the shelves over the coming weeks.

Come say hello, grab a bargain and witness firsthand the consequences of leaving Josh unsupervised.

🚪⛔ CLOSED TODAY ⛔🚪

After extensive negotiations, several committee meetings and what can only be described as a complete lack of enthusiasm from management, Josh has officially been ordered to continue his holiday.

Buried Treasure & Collectables will be CLOSED today.

Please remain calm.

The piles of treasures, vintage signs, furniture, collectables and mystery boxes have been left unsupervised but under strict instructions not to sell themselves while we're away.

Rumours that Josh is currently trying to walk past garage sales, op shops and roadside hard rubbish collections without stopping remain unconfirmed.

We'll be back soon and ready to resume our regular programming of storage unit adventures, questionable discoveries and treasure hunting chaos.

In the meantime, our eBay store remains open 24/7 for those suffering from treasure withdrawal symptoms.

Thanks for your understanding and we'll see you all again soon!

🏖️ HOLIDAY STATUS: 2 DAYS IN
🕵️‍♂️ TREASURE HUNTER STATUS: FULLY OPERATIONAL

Most people spend their holidays finding a nice café, a good view and somewhere to relax.

Josh is two days into his holiday and has already managed to sniff out a vintage Nestlé's Malted Milk reverse-painted glass advertising sign that looks like it came straight out of an old Australian milk bar.

Because apparently "time off" just means hunting for treasures in a different postcode.

Back when milk bars were king and your biggest decision of the day was:

🥤 Chocolate
🥤 Vanilla
🥤 Strawberry
🥤 Raspberry
🥤 Passionfruit
🥤 Pineapple

The thing about pieces like this is they carry stories.

How many kids stood beneath this sign trying to convince Mum for "just one more" milkshake?

How many dates started over a malted milk and a packet of chips?

How many decades did it hang on a wall before quietly disappearing into storage waiting for someone to appreciate it again?

Aley booked a family holiday.

Josh interpreted that as:

"Explore new regions and inspect every antique store, market stall, collectables shop and suspicious-looking shed for hidden treasures."

And we're only two days in...

At this rate, the return trip home may require an additional trailer.

Question is...

Which flavour are you ordering from the old milk bar? 🥤👇
