I’m currently dressing a baby for my partner’s auntie who has dementia. She’s a Māori lady so I wanted a darker skin tone & this little replica Pascale has a lovely colour without being overly dark. I also wanted to avoid blue or pink clothes that made it look male or female so she can choose for herself. I’ve been able to find everything, even a baby blanket, in shades of green which I’ve not done before. I’ve made a little beanie & booties & just about to start on the matching jacket.

OH MY GOODNESS - I’ve never had a reaction like this to a reborn doll but she honestly made my cry.

I get excited about every single new baby but I’m a little bit extra excited today. My tax refund baby Alice is due to arrive this morning & I’ll be waiting for that ping on my phone to say the mail has been delivered. I wonder if the outfit I’m currently knitting will fit her. If not, my next knitting project will be something special for her. Not sure if I’ll get another new pattern from UniqueKnit Designs or use one that I already have.

Finally got around to putting some new elastic in the pants of this lovely little vintage two piece outfit that I found in a local second hand shop. It’s from an Australian company ‘Sunny Baby’ & somewhere around 30-40 years old.
Pics had to wait until Cianne had her hair freshly curled.

Time for some afternoon TV time with the newest baby.
Cianne at the other end of the lounge waiting for her hair to be tidied after changing her into a thrifted vintage outfit that’s just had the old elastic replaced.

Baylee as a girl & as a boy. Could be either but I think I prefer as a little boy.
Weight has gone up from 1.5kg (3lb 5oz) to now 2.7kg (5lb 15oz) which better suits a 21 inch baby. Also added a magnet for a dummy.

Arrived in the mail this morning & I’m just about to take apart to reweight & fill so it’s a bit more to my liking. Some before pics & one quick one after I’d spent about 45 minutes getting the knots & tangles out of the hair. I’ll then take some pics dressed as both a boy & a girl to decide which suits better.
When I get a baby like this, needing some TLC, the intention is always to fix up & then resell but I always end up liking them too much. I’ll see how I go with this one.
