West Australian Wyloo Amethyst Slices on stand ~ $100ea💜
Wyloo amethyst is a variety of quartz, often found with smoky quartz or citrine, sourced from the Wyloo Station in Western Australia's Ashburton region.
It is often found in clusters or as double-terminated crystals.
Amethyst specimens were mined here by Peter Blithe in 1966. Specimens from here were just labelled "Wyloo station".
Some sources are referring to an amethyst mine called Austwen at Wyloo Station, but it is uncertain if this is the same locality.
Australia is not known for great amethyst, at least compared to other amethyst producing regions of the world. Arguably the best amethyst from Australia comes from Wyloo.
Most specimens are labelled Wyloo, for the nearby station homestead. Requests in recent years to visit the site by local collectors have been refused by the station, and in turn the separate leaseholders.
Wyloo Amethyst, sourced from the Pilbara region in Western Australia, is highly regarded in metaphysical circles for its strong, authentic, and grounding Australian earth energy.
While possessing the general, peaceful properties of standard Amethyst, Wyloo Amethyst is specifically associated with deep spiritual, protective, and grounding benefits due to its often smoky or unique, high-quality inclusions.
