Heaven gained a true angel ❤️Rest in peace, Dolly Parton. You will be deeply missed ❤️

We’re saying goodbye to a true icon. Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind an incredible legacy that reached far beyond music 🎶

Dolly will always hold a special place in our hearts. From her charitable works, to her movies back to her music.

And, of course, there’s Dollywood, the beloved Tennessee theme park she helped transform into one of the most unique theme park destinations in the country, combining thrilling attractions, entertainment, Appalachian culture, and Dolly’s unmistakable personality.

One thing I can tell you is that Aruba - has
GREAT FOOD AND GREAT FOOD SELECTIONS!!!

Our welcome supper courtesy of the Ala Carte Restaurant- MAREA House of Grill - Iberostar Joia - picked out by our BDM - Jason V Gignac - was more than a pleasant surprise for our hungry bunch of travel agents. It had been a long day. For me starting the night before at 9 pm travelling to the airport and a red eye connection to this beautiful island they call Aruba.

The meal was served to us in family portions much like you would see at PF Changs. And BTW - they have one here!!!

So we all got to share. It was delicious from start to end and our bellies were more than full.

If you are a Foodie - you will not be Disappointed!!! Thank you Jason for your selection and thank you to Carlos and your team for the meal!!! 💚💚💚💚💚

***An average meal price per person for what we had was approximately $85 USD per person very comparable to what we would see here in Alberta

***The public is welcome to eat here anytime as well just reservations required.

To help celebrate this most awesome day it’s important to share some background…It’s to celebrate the Iconic Plastic Lawn Ornament originally created by sculptor Don Featherstone who first created this image in 1957. 🦩🦩That’s wayyy older than me!!!

People today celebrate this day of kitschy fun and whimsy by decorating their yards with vibrant pink plastic statues 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Tell me…. Has anyone been surprised with a Flamboyance “flock” of pink flamingos on their lawn to celebrate a birthday????

I ran across this information this morning and found it very informative in regards to the Sargassum Situation around the globe that is now affecting travel more and more every year.

It is a never ending battle at the moment - it is decreasing travel in some areas as no one enjoys the blocking of access to the beaches and waters and of course there is the stench 🤢🤮🤢

This is also a portion of why travel costs are increasing not only just fuel ⛽️ skyrocketing and limitations

So top question a lot of the time is —— what do the rooms look like?? Are they up to date?? Do they smell musty??

Iberostar Joia Aruba is a fairly new build and just opened in Aruba December 2024. Joia’s are normally Adults Only but since - at this moment - it’s the only Iberostar on the island they are allowing children for the time being.

☀️it’s a smaller resort of only 240 rooms mostly geared towards adults and Prestige Members, but they do offer a small Star Kids Club for ages 4 - 12

☀️they DO NOT have family connecting rooms
☀️they DO HAVE 10 swim - up suites on the 2nd floor with great views
☀️they do have Accessibility suites

I am staying in a King Suite - it really is quite Devine!! And honestly the most comfortable bed 🛌 I have ever slept on!!!

☀️view of the whole resort and ocean - just open the curtains while lying in bed and wahla!!

☀️amenities so wonderful - you don’t need to bring your own like shampoo/conditioner,etc
Raindrop Shower Head is Tall Flamingo Approved!! 🦩🦩🦩
☀️blue tooth speaker surround sound
☀️fridge and safe and steamer
☀️huge turntable TV
☀️daily maid service and turndown service with chocolates 🍫 at night
☀️big jetted tub on the deck that comes with amenities and mineral salts and lounger couch

Travel Agents Log: Day Two

Time: 3:00 pm June 9,2026
Location: Aruba Airport

Landed almost on time, smooth Flights with and the fastest I have ever gotten thru an airport with customs and collecting my checked bag - usually it’s an hour but we landed and we’re out in a half hour!!! Very impressed. 🩷🩷

We also discovered the best least inexpensive place to purchase alcohol 🍷 was at the duty free store at the airport so of course we had to oblige!!

Transfer to our resort was quick n easy as well!!
We think we have lots of round-abouts now in Alberta - there are every where on this small island, but they know how to use them here lol

First night comprised of getting acquainted with our room and then a welcome supper.
