Job Responsibilities
● Provide basic care to patients, including assistance with personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
● Monitor vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse as directed by medical staff.
● Assist patients with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, and grooming to promote patient dignity and comfort.
● Aid patients with walking, transferring from bed to wheelchair, and escorting them to various locations within the healthcare facility.
● Ensure patient safety by being aware of potential hazards and following all safety protocols.
● Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by regularly cleaning patient areas and properly disposing of waste and soiled linens.
● Observe patients' conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff.
● Be attentive to patients' needs and respond to call lights or requests for assistance promptly.
● Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, offering a listening ear and a comforting presence.
● Encourage patients and provide reassurance during medical procedures or treatments.
● Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure that patient needs are being met.
● Document and relay important information regarding patients' conditions and care to the relevant healthcare professionals.
● Assist with meal preparation and service, ensuring that dietary restrictions and preferences are accommodated.
● Help patients with eating and drinking if they are unable to do so independently, and monitor intake to report to the nursing staff.
● Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical procedures as needed and within the scope of their training and capabilities.
● Prepare and transport specimens for laboratory analysis as required.
● Monitor and restock patient care supplies, such as personal hygiene items, bedpans, and incontinence aids.
● Ensure that equipment and assistive devices are clean, functioning, and available for patient use.
● Assist in educating patients and families on basic care procedures that may be continued at home.
● Provide information on the healthcare center's resources and services that can support patients' ongoing needs.
