আধুনিক কাতারের রূপকার, সাবেক আমীর শেখ হামাদ বিন খলিফা আল থানির ইন্তিকালে গভীর শোক ও দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছি।
শেখ হামাদ বিন খলিফা আল থানি ১২ জুলাই ৭৪ বছর বয়সে ইন্তিকাল করেছেন (ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন)। আমি তাঁর ইন্তিকালে গভীর শোক ও দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছি।
শেখ হামাদ বিন খলিফা আল থানি ছিলেন মুসলিম উম্মাহর এক দূরদর্শী ও বলিষ্ঠ নেতা। ১৯৯৫ থেকে ২০১৩ সাল পর্যন্ত কাতারের আমীর হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালনকালে তাঁর গতিশীল নেতৃত্বে কাতার শিক্ষা, অর্থনীতি, জ্বালানি খাত ও আন্তর্জাতিক কূটনীতিতে এক অনন্য উচ্চতায় পৌঁছায়। বিশেষ করে ২০১৩ সালে তাঁর ছেলে বর্তমান আমীর শেখ তামিম বিন হামাদ আল থানির কাছে শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে ক্ষমতা হস্তান্তর করে তিনি মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের ইতিহাসে এক বিরল ও অনন্য দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করে গেছেন।
তাঁর ইন্তিকালে বিশ্ববাসী এবং বিশেষ করে মুসলিম উম্মাহ একজন প্রজ্ঞাবান ও দরদী অভিভাবককে হারাল। বাংলাদেশ ও কাতারের দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ক উন্নয়ন এবং এ দেশে কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টিতে তাঁর অবদান অনস্বীকার্য। আমরা বাংলাদেশের জনগণ ও আমার ব্যাক্তিগত পক্ষ থেকে কাতারের রাজপরিবার এবং ভ্রাতৃপ্রতিম কাতারবাসীর প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা ও সহমর্মিতা জ্ঞাপন করছি।
আমি মহান আল্লাহ রাব্বুল আলামীনের দরবারে মরহুমের রূহের মাগফিরাত কামনা করছি এবং তাঁকে জান্নাতুল ফিরদাউসের উচ্চ মাকাম দান করার জন্য দোয়া করছি। একই সাথে শোকসন্তপ্ত রাজপরিবার ও কাতারের জনগণকে এই অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি কাটিয়ে ওঠার জন্য ধৈর্য ধারণের তাওফিক কামনা করছি।”

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani passed away on July 12 at the age of 74 (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un). I express my deepest condolences and sorrow at his passing.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was a visionary and strong leader of the Muslim Ummah. During his tenure as the Emir of Qatar from 1995 to 2013, under his dynamic leadership, Qatar reached unprecedented heights in education, economy, energy sector and international diplomacy. In particular, in 2013, by peacefully transferring power to his son, the current Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, he set a rare and unique example in the history of the Middle East.
With his passing, the world and especially the Muslim Ummah lost a wise and compassionate guardian. His contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Qatar and the creation of employment in this country is undeniable. We, the people of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, express our deepest condolences and sympathy to the royal family of Qatar and the brotherly people of Qatar.
I pray to Allah Almighty to grant him the highest rank in Paradise. At the same time, I wish the bereaved royal family and the people of Qatar patience to overcome this irreparable loss.”
