When we started Colissia Global Ltd., our goal was clear: to build a company rooted in digital commerce - serving customers through innovative, tech-enabled platforms.

Recently, we decided to open a branch in Dhaka North (Mirpur) to support our growing operations. Naturally, we applied for a trade license under the business category "Digital Commerce" - the very space we’re operating in. In fact, our existing trade license from Rajbari District was also issued under Digital Commerce category, recognizing our operational model from the beginning.

But here’s where the story took a twist:
At the DNCC zonal office, we were informed that “Digital Commerce” isn’t listed as a recognized business category in the current City Corporation Tax Schedule, 2016 (সিটি কর্পোরেশন আদর্শ কর তফসিল, ২০১৬)...

It was a surprising moment. On one hand, we have national policies like -
✅ Digital Commerce Operation Guidelines, 2021
✅ DBID Registration Guidelines, 2022
✅ Cross-Border Digital Trade Policy, 2024 (Draft)
These policy documents, led by the Ministry of Commerce, clearly define and recognize “Digital Commerce” as a valid and strategic business category.

On the other hand, our local tax classification system hasn’t yet caught up.

Instead of being discouraged, we saw this as an opportunity to advocate for alignment. We reached out to the Local Government Division (LGD) with a humble request: to consider updating the classifications in line with the country’s evolving digital trade framework and process our application.

Because we believe this isn’t just about Colissia - it’s about ensuring that the next generation of digital entrepreneurs can build freely, confidently, and within a system that recognizes them.

We're hopeful and we’re proud to be part of a generation that's shaping Bangladesh’s digital future - not just in business, but in policy too...!

This role involves creating visually engaging graphics, designing appealing gift card visuals, and creating simple animations and video edits for digital promotions.

1. Enhance visual storytelling and brand identity.
2. Conceptualize and design engaging digital and print materials, including website banners, social media graphics, marketing collaterals and stationeries.
3. Develop branding elements, including logos, brochures, and presentations.
