🇧🇩 Bangladesh First 1 Taka Note | āĻŦāĻžāĻ‚āϞāĻžāĻĻ⧇āĻļ⧇āϰ āĻĒā§āϰāĻĨāĻŽ Map Note (1972) Full Story

📝 Description

Keeping this note in my collection was a long-time dream of mine, and today that dream finally came true. This is the first banknote of Bangladesh — the historic 1 Taka “Map Note” issued in 1972 🇧🇩

In this video, I am sharing the full history and details of Bangladesh’s first ever banknote. After independence, Bangladesh needed its own currency identity, and this 1 Taka note became a powerful symbol of a new nation’s beginning.

This note, widely known as the “Map Note,” features the map of Bangladesh on the front side and represents the early financial history of our country. It was printed in India Security Press, Nashik and circulated during the early years of independence.

For collectors, this is not just a note — it is a priceless piece of history, emotion, and national pride.

Keeping this note in my collection was a long-time dream of mine, and today that dream finally came true. This is the first banknote of Bangladesh — the first 1 Taka note. 🇧🇩 To a collector, such a historic note is not just a piece of paper, but a priceless part of the nation’s history and memories.

â–Ēī¸ Bangladesh’s First “Map Note” – 1 Taka 🇧🇩
This was the first issued 1 Taka banknote of Bangladesh, released on 4 March 1972. Among collectors, it is widely known as the “Map Note” because the front side features a map of Bangladesh. After independence, this note represented an important and historic currency issue for the newly formed nation. According to Numista, the note measured 98 × 63 mm and was printed on paper using the lithography printing method. It was printed at the India Security Press, Nashik, and was withdrawn on 30 March 1974.

The front side of the note displays the map of Bangladesh along with the words “Government of Bangladesh” in both Bangla and English, as well as a black serial number. The reverse side contains decorative guillochÊ patterns with the text “One Taka / āĻāĻ• āϟāĻžāĻ•āĻžâ€ in Bangla and English. Interestingly, this note had no watermark or security thread. According to Bangladesh Bank, it was printed urgently for quick circulation, and later replaced with a new design for security reasons.

This note bears the signature of K. A. Zaman, the then Finance Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh. Unlike higher denomination banknotes issued by Bangladesh Bank, the 1 Taka note was issued directly by the Government of Bangladesh.

To a collector, this note is not just currency — it is a priceless historical symbol from the beginning of independent Bangladesh. ✨
