Frank & Crow Handmade stuff, made by some chick in Belgium
Currently obsessed with glass Hi, I’m the artist behind Frank and Crow. Even if it takes longer.

I’m a self-taught maker from Belgium who believes in doing things properly and with care. I started off as a leatherworker and have evolved into stained glass. I design and make all my patterns, because I don’t believe in selling anything I don’t know inside out. My work is usually a little offbeat, I love creating pieces that break away from the obvious and might make you look twice or even smile. I don’t use AI and I don’t make things just to fill up the shop. Every piece starts at my workbench and only goes up for sale when it’s good enough. Thanks for supporting real craft and for bringing my quirky work into your life!

What do you expect from a stained glass pattern? Do you consider a good pattern to be fully “hand cuttable” or is it normal to need a grinder, and even different bits?

Everyone has their own way of working, but this is what worked for me 👉🏻 Vinyl pattern stickers were a huge help for me when I started out. If you get proper vinyl, it will adhere perfectly, allowing you to grind all of your pieces as perfectly as you can. There’s no guessing and even when you make cutting mistakes (cut off too much or a point broke off) you won’t start overcompensating 🖤 The right vinyl will stick well enough so it doesn’t come off during grinding, but as soon as you’re done will still come off easily ⚠️ Important: this only works when you cut and grind in one go. I never leave my stickers on for the next day, because then they’re a bitch to get off. Got a fun video of that if you want to see what happens ;P

🤮🤮🤮🤮 — Anyway foiling is done. Except for piece #64 that one is in jail. Usually my hate is reserved solely for foiling, but when a piece decides to let go of the vinyl pattern sticker within seconds of grinding… it goes straight to jail

Glass haul part 2/2: I absolutely adore Lamberts mouth blown glass. The colours are exquisite and cutting these sheets is like cutting butter 🧈 BUT… there’s some accepting to do: mouth blown means accepting serious irregularities (part of the charm ✨). However, this is the first time I got some crazy sheets: one is over 6mm (1/4 inch) on the edge for almost 12cm (5 inches) never reaching regular thickness anywhere, and the other is barely 2mm (1/16inch) for the same length … 😭

Glass hail part 1/2: My first ever fuser’s reserve — it took me 2 years to order my first ones. Go figure 🤷🏻‍♀️ When I like things, I tend to keep them, so I’m curious how long it’ll be until I use the glass 😬
