I have received donations, and I continue to receive donations, only the words “thank you” never feel like enough.

But—thank you. ❤️

I can’t turn away.

I have well over 25 rescues, and I am just one person who feels like she’s in a war zone all by herself. I pay rent for two locations. The utilities at Buddy’s Meow House are very high, especially in the winter. Food is costly. Medical care is costly. Everything these babies need adds up.

I couldn’t—and can’t—do this without help.

They need something every single day. I chose them all of them time. Each with their individual needs. I love doing it.

They are my family and they are little local demonstrations of what animal welfare ought to look like. And I am so incredibly proud of them.

People walk by Buddy’s Meow House and get to see them day and night. Sometimes people are bad. So many smile and slow down.

I enjoy answering “no” when people asked me if this is a hotel.

I get to tell than that they used to be sick and homeless and that this is their home. At least until they get a better one.

P.S. Name ideas for this itty-bitty calico who was yelling in distress for an unknown number of hours in the yard of the building behind my apartment building before I was told about her, saw her, and succumbed to get her… 🥺

I’m hoping this post will reach the right people. We need food—a lot of food. For example.

I want to recreate this space. What I earn is not enough for all of these bellies and costs to have BMH on my own.

Please send what you can. Engaging with our content helps because Facebook does pay a little more when you do. ♥️ A solution is to post better more and content but I don’t have much time.

I’ve seen this poor boy twice now, and both times I’ve had to keep walking because I don’t yet have the capacity to safely help him. I was on my way on foot to tend to the fifteen cats in BMH, after leaving my other fifteen cats who live at home. I didn’t have a trap, a carrier, or anything with me. *

I live in the heart of Burgas, and there are so many cats like him. They don’t trust humans. These poor, innocent animals hide and live like mice, right alongside the “civilized” people.

There’s no system for cats like him.

Caring, wanting to act, and even technically being able to act are different from having the capacity to sustain the intervention. And that breaks my heart.

Update on the kitten who was shot with a BB gun.

The girl who contacted me has told me that the person who shot him is unknown.

For now, he’ll remain hospitalized while we make sure he’s safe and find the best possible home for him.

They kitty is paralysed and needs to be manually relieved.

I’ve been completely overwhelmed by the number of people asking about him and wanting to help him.

Please know that everyone who has reached out will have an opportunity to apply for adoption. I’ll share the details once he and the form is ready…

For now, he just needs time. 🤍

And maybe a name.

Today I received a phone call about a kitten who has been shot three times with a BB gun.

And after receiving whatever veterinary care is available to him, he apparently has nowhere to go.

From what I understand, his back legs are no longer functional and he will require supportive care.

I’m being told that organisations have been unable to take him — whether because they’re at capacity or simply cannot accommodate a case like this, I don’t want to speak for them.

But that leaves us with a kitten who has been shot three times, is now disabled, and has nowhere safe to go.

I cannot become the infrastructure that doesn’t exist.

But I also cannot hear about a kitten like this and simply pretend I didn’t.

What should I do?
