FROM MARKET EXPERIENCE TO MANUFACTURING AT HOME.

Founded by Motswana entrepreneur Lone Daniel, the Calm Tissue journey began in South Africa, where the brand gained practical retail experience and an understanding of what customers and major retailers expect from an everyday hygiene product. Calm Tissue traded through recognised channels including SPAR, Makro Online, Uber Eats and other chain-store platforms.
In 2025, Calm Tissue brought its next chapter home, opening a tissue factory in Selebi-Phikwe, within Botswana’s SPEDU region.
The move represented more than a change of address. It marked Calm Tissue’s transition from trading in established markets to building manufacturing capability at home supporting local value addition, employment creation and Botswana’s broader industrial development.
Today, Calm Tissue manufactures premium 2-ply toilet tissue with 350 sheets per roll, available in packs of 4, 9, 18, 24 and 48 rolls. Its products are developed for households, retailers, wholesalers, institutions and businesses seeking a dependable combination of softness, comfort, quality and value. As Calm Tissue expands its national footprint, the brand will soon be available through major retailers across Botswana.
Calm Tissue represents a new generation of Botswana enterprises: locally rooted, commercially experienced and ambitious about what can be manufactured at home. From Selebi-Phikwe, the company is building towards a future in which a proudly Botswana hygiene brand can serve its home market and grow across Southern Africa.
