Each bear is carefully crafted with jointed limbs and realistic looking glass eyes. Pawpads are soft leather or ultrasuede. The finished bear is one of a kind with its own unique spirit. An excellent way to share a coat which is no longer being worn. For myself as the artisan it's a personal acknowledgement to the animal who was the original inhabitant of the fur that they are not forgotten.

My first experiment with Kinusaiga, a Japanese art form originally using silk wrapped around a wooden frame. Its similar to stained glass but without the sharp edges. And just as time consuming. Also an excellent way to use up fabric scraps.
