🥔 CHEF ALEX PAGE IS COMING TO BRAGG FARMS! 👨‍🍳
We’re excited to welcome Durham Region farm-to-table Chef Alex Page to the farm this Saturday for a live cooking demonstration featuring an ingredient we know pretty well around here… potatoes! 🥔

Alex is the host of The Roaming Chef on Bell Fibe TV1, a Farm-to-Table Tourism professor at Durham College, and has appeared as a culinary expert on CTV’s The Good Stuff with Mary Berg. Much of his work focuses on celebrating the incredible food grown right here in Durham Region and showing us what can be created with locally grown ingredients.
This Saturday, he’s cooking with ours. 🤎

Join us from 1:00–3:00 PM as Chef Alex cooks right here at Bragg Farms, sharing some inspiration for turning those freshly dug spuds into something delicious at home.
Come dig a sack, catch Chef Alex in action and spend a fall Saturday with us on the farm.

We tried this Twice Baked Potato Casserole for the first time this week and it was an immediate keeper. Creamy, cheesy, loaded with bacon and exactly the kind of comfort food September calls for.

🥔 You dug ’em… now make them last! 🍠

One of the questions we hear every potato season is, “What do I do with them when I get home?”

Freshly dug potatoes can store beautifully when they’re cared for properly — and that burlap sack you filled in the field isn’t just for getting your harvest home! It’s breathable and makes a great storage bag for your spuds.
So resist the urge to scrub all that farm dirt off when you get home. 😉

Keep them dirty, dark, cool and dry, check on them every so often, and wash them only as you’re ready to enjoy them.
And if the pitchfork got the better of a few while you were digging… those are tonight’s dinner. 😂🥔

It’s almost time for Potato Digging here at Bragg Farms as tomorrow marks opening weekend! Brownies, Maple Pecan Sweet Potato Pies and Sweet Potato Pies with Roasted Marshmallow are back!

While we always have lots of single servings available for our Potato Digging visitors — make sure that if you’d like to be guaranteed a full size pie (8 slices) that you place an order!

Happy Back to School for the families and children in our region! We had a great summer with you all, and now we’ll be changing hats to gear up for the next farm event to begin this coming weekend. Potato Harvest officially opens to the public Saturday 12th & 13th and then will proceed on weekends only up until the weekend prior to Thanksgiving! So you’ve got four weekends to make it out to Bragg Farms for the freshest most tasty spuds! This week will likely welcome back some much needed routine, and then we’ll be happy to spend some weekend fun with you! 🥔🚜🍠
