And so it begins… 🌿 GATHERING SUPPLIES!

A grapevine wreath, pink and cream sunflowers, touches of burgundy, soft greenery and a few carefully chosen stems spread across the crafting table.

This is one of my favourite parts of creating a new wreath — gathering the pieces and seeing how colours and textures might work together before anything is permanently placed.

Sometimes the original idea changes completely once I start designing…and that's part of the fun.

These pink sunflowers were definitely staying, though. 💕

Any guesses how this one turned out?

🌸I think I may have found my favourite kind of sunflower… 🌸

Pink!

I love traditional coloured sunflowers, but there's something about these soft pink ones that catches my eye every time. They have all the cheerfulness of a sunflower, just with a softer, slightly unexpected twist.

And yes… these beauties were destined for a new wreath. 😉

I've been playing with a softer colour palette for the transition from summer into fall, and these were my starting point.

🌿 Don't rush the season you're in.

I've been a little quieter here lately, but August has reminded me that sometimes slowing down gives us the chance to notice what's right in front of us.

- A heron patiently watching and waiting for its next catch. 😊 Seriously, it was a huge bird!!!

- A garden that has been wonderfully full and vibrant this summer. I planted these lily varieties a few years ago and they are finally this summer's showstoppers!

- And one of those glorious sunsets that makes you stop whatever you're doing just to watch.

It's easy to become so focused on what's next — the next project, the next season, the next thing on the list — that we forget to enjoy where we are right now.

And yes, behind the scenes I'm already surrounded by fall ribbon and florals! 🍂 But summer isn't finished with us quite yet.

So I'm choosing to enjoy these August days while they're here.

Every season has its own beauty. Let's not wish this one away. 💚

One thing I've learned through creating is that beautiful things rarely begin perfectly.

There are messy worktables, changed ideas, ribbon that doesn't quite work, flowers moved around more times than I'd like to admit 😄 — and plenty of trial and error along the way.

But that's part of the beauty of handmade...and perhaps a little bit like life too.

We don't have to have everything perfectly figured out. We simply need to show up, be ourselves, enjoy the process and keep creating something that feels true to who we are. 💚

So here's your little reminder for today: there's beauty in being perfectly imperfect.

Beautiful things don't have to begin perfectly.

NO FILTER!

A little behind-the-scenes look at what getting ready for a new week really looks like at The Crafting Table Wreaths!

Project bags are being organized, fall ribbons and florals are coming out for an upcoming market…and then there's the worktable. 😄

Not particularly Instagram-perfect — but very real.

Handmade isn't always neat and tidy. There's planning, sorting, changing my mind, trying different combinations, clipping stems, ribbon everywhere and usually a glue string or two that somehow follows me around!

But that's part of what I love about creating.

Beautiful things don't have to begin perfectly. Sometimes we just need to start, enjoy the process and let things come together in their own way.

⚾ Summer is made of simple joys.

A FAMILY Affair!

Sunshine on our faces. Fresh-cut grass beneath our feet. The excitement of game day. The cheers from the sidelines. Baseball has a wonderful way of bringing people together.

I was honoured to create this handcrafted baseball wreath, which has been donated to a special baseball event supporting children with special needs.

It's a small way of giving back to a community that celebrates courage, inclusion, friendship, and the simple joy of playing the game.

Wishing every child, family, volunteer, and coach a day filled with smiles, unforgettable memories, and plenty of home runs. ❤️⚾

Because sometimes the most meaningful things we create aren't the ones we sell—they're the ones that help make someone else's day a little brighter.

💜 Every custom order begins with a conversation.

One of the things I enjoy most is working closely with my clients to create something that reflects their style and personality.

For this custom wreath, my client had a vision for a special sign with the words "Thankful • Grateful • Blessed." Together, we designed the sign she had in mind, and I even hand-painted the border of the frame to match the colours of her favourite sports team.

From there, I brought everything together with rich purple hydrangeas, elegant white magnolias, delicate lavender, and lush greenery to create a wreath that is as unique as the home it now welcomes.

It's details like these that make custom orders so rewarding. No two are ever exactly alike, and that's what makes each one so special.
