SHORT-TERM RENTALS SUPPORT SMALL TOWNS ❤️
There can be a lot of negativity surrounding short-term rentals, but I think it’s important to talk about the good they can bring to our communities when they’re run responsibly.
When guests stay at The River Luxe, they don’t just stay at the cottage. They become visitors to our community.
They eat at local restaurants, shop in our stores, buy groceries and gas, visit local attractions, stop for ice cream, explore nearby towns and discover businesses they may never have known about otherwise.
Those tourism dollars support local businesses, local jobs and local families. ❤️
For me, this is especially meaningful because Fenelon Falls is my hometown. It holds so many special memories for me, and I feel extremely lucky to be able to share my cottage with people who appreciate just how special this town and area truly are.
I love seeing our guests make their own memories here while exploring Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon and the Kawarthas — and knowing that along the way, they’re supporting the people and businesses that make our towns so special.
Of course, STRs need to be run properly. Responsible ownership, licensing, appropriate occupancy limits and respect for neighbours matter.
When those things are in place, a short-term rental can be so much more than somewhere to sleep.
It can be a doorway into a community. 🏡❤️
To every guest who has stayed with us: thank you for supporting our towns and the people who make them so special.
I feel very fortunate that The River Luxe can be a small part of that.
