Educating my patients as a Registered Dietician involves considering both internal & external influences that contribute to our overall well being.

Internal well-being refers to the state of a person's physical, mental, & emotional health.

Factors that influence our internal well being include:

Internal well-being encompasses a person's ability to manage stress and maintain a positive outlook on life. Focus on internal well-being helps:

which enhances the quality of our life.

External well-being refers to:

🏘 a person's environment
👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 social relationships

External well-being is vital because it can impact a person's mental health, physical health, & overall quality of life.

It's important to prioritize them both for optimal health.

Great marketing influences the choices of products we use at home. We tend to overlook how safe they are for our bodies because they:

How LL&Co Therapeutics was born.

Searching for a solution for her clients' lost sense of taste & smell after sustaining brain injury, Aimee Hayes, a Registered Dietician operating Aimee Hayes & Associates knew she needed pure, quality therapeutics in her tool kit.

Her expertise as a trained aromatherapist involved smell retraining using essential oils. Looking for safe, quality ingredients, she knew she needed to design a dependable line of pure essential oils.

Lauren, Aimee's daughter, currently attending University of Guelph studying neuroscience was fascinated by the results of Aimee's work; and works alongside her mother when she can.

Together, the two women have expanded their line up of products to include premium body care items & a safe, non-toxic candle line.

A mushroom cap on a candle wick is a build-up of carbon that occurs when the wick is not trimmed properly. As the candle burns, the wick draws the liquid wax up to the flame, where it vaporizes and then combusts. If the wick is too long or has not been trimmed before burning, the excess wax can't be completely burned, and it will form a dark, crusty buildup at the top of the wick known as a mushroom cap.

The mushroom cap can be unsightly and may cause the flame to flicker or smoke, and it can also be a fire hazard. When a mushroom cap forms, it's important to extinguish the candle and trim the wick to a proper length (usually about 1/4 inch) before relighting it.

To prevent mushrooming in the future, always trim the wick before lighting the candle and after each burn. Additionally, make sure to keep the candle away from drafts or other sources of air flow that can cause the flame to flicker and create more soot.

PS. All of our candles have self-trimming capabilities, but may require the occasional trim.
