When a mysterious ship rider joins the crew of the Serenity, wanting to sail into restricted waters, Emeline knows something is wrong.

But she doesn’t discover what until it’s too late.

Arsen Seaspire, the Second Prince of Haven, is tasked with guarding the Veil. When he spots Emeline onboard, she takes him off guard. Gifted with the ability to wield fear, Arsen finds that Emeline doesn’t know what her worst fear is. She’s been in a fog, grieving from an early loss and struggling with her trauma. Saving her from an accident at sea, Arsen makes it his own personal mission to discover what she’s truly afraid of.

Together, they navigate her grief. As tensions build between them and secrets unravel, they discover they’re not so different after all. Grief and trauma don’t discriminate. Unfortunately, the fae do and humans aren’t allowed to step foot in Haven.

What will happen to Emeline when Arsen and the fae realm begin to feel like home?

What will happen to Arsen when falling in love with a human is considered treason?

Our Dark Incantations by Wanda Hellmund
Cover art by Karina Giada Art ⚔️
Release day October 20th
Preorders open || First edition with a Nekoto Exclusive
(Only for Preorders)

Welcome friends to Ivercrest University this fall.

Do you know in Nekoto we have a special place in our hearts for dark academia fantasy? We adore it.

Our Dark Incantations is the debut novel of Wanda Hellmund, following our main protagonist Mira Winters. In this achingly romantic dark academia fantasy a young woman must embrace Dark Magic and an alliance with a deadly Wielder to fight a powerful threat cloaked in shadow.

Being that so many of our favourite books are coming this October, we wanted to make it unforgettable.
Check our socials in the next couple of weeks to discover what is our Exclusive for this story.

And also, dearest Karina Giada Art ⚔️ we’ll be sending you so many photographs and videos of our Wall of books with your cover art in our Dark Academia shelves, what a beautiful cover.

Between us, we’re so fully booked this fall 🍂

Thank you so much Wanda Hellmund for sending me a copy and my acceptance letter! I’ll always treasure it.

☕️🍂

After the war, ex-healer Mira Winters swore she’d never touch magic again. And yet here she is attending the newly reopened Ivercrest University, enrolled in the wrong magic department, paired up with the absolute wrong partner—the infuriating Aidric Dawson.

Instead of learning how to make a potion strong enough to heal her incurable scar, Mira attends demonology lessons, casts deadly spells…and is accidentally dragged into a murder investigation on campus—one with devastating ripples that bleed into the magical world far beyond the university.

Even more devastating? Aidric Dawson. Rumored to have been a high-ranking soldier during the war, the lethal Wielder is arrogant, aristocratic, and shrouded in secrets…but with his own wounds from the war, he may also be the only one who truly understands Mira.

A labyrinth of clues pulls Mira and Aidric deep into a sinister plot hiding in the shadows of magical society, threatening war once more. Can the two enemies work together without losing their hearts—or their lives—in the process?
