Another female icon gone. 💔

Today, the real estate world lost Gail Liniger, co-founder of RE/MAX, at 81 years old.

To many people, her name may not be instantly recognizable. But to those of us who spent years in the real estate industry, Gail was an absolute force and a woman I deeply admired.

Long before there was a Newfoundland Diva Company, real estate was a huge part of my life. I spent 22 years in the industry, and one of the moments from that career that I will always treasure happened at the 2008 RE/MAX Convention in Las Vegas.

When I was asked who I wanted to receive my award from, my answer wasn’t Dave Liniger.

I wanted Gail.

And this photo captured that moment. ❤️

Gail’s story was one of incredible strength and resilience. She survived a horrific plane crash and faced an extraordinarily difficult recovery, yet she continued to persevere, remain involved with RE/MAX and support and inspire its agents.

She knew what it meant to be knocked down by life and fight her way back.

That’s the kind of woman I’ve always admired. Strong, determined, resilient and unwilling to let life’s challenges define what comes next.

And when I think about what the Newfoundland Diva Company represents today, celebrating strong women, encouraging women to know their worth, and reminding them of just how powerful they can be - it feels especially fitting to honour a woman who embodied so much of that long before this company ever existed.

I’m incredibly grateful that, for one small moment in my own real estate journey, I got to stand beside her.

Rest peacefully, Gail. ❤️
You were truly a woman worth looking up to.

💖 THURSDAY THOUGHTS FROM DIVA HQ… 💖

The tea is poured, the notebook is open, and there are a LOT of ideas floating around this Diva’s head this morning. 😂👑

Today I’m working on mapping out where you’ll be able to Find the Diva over the next few months, looking at new events and opportunities, and working on some pretty exciting ideas for what’s next for The Newfoundland Diva Company. 👀✨

And let’s just say…

Some of those ideas might take Newfie Diva beyond shirts and hoodies. 💋✨

That’s ALL you’re getting outta me for now. 😂

I’m learning very quickly that building a business means there’s always another idea to explore, another opportunity to chase and another “Wouldn’t it be cool if…” rolling around in my head.

But I’m also learning that you don’t have to do it ALL today.

So I’m putting in a good morning’s work… and then I’m taking advantage of this beautiful Newfoundland weather and spending a few hours in the sunshine this afternoon. ☀️💖

Work a little. Dream a little. Live a little.

Sounds like a pretty good Thursday to me.

Well, Peg Ryan, I think you may know this Diva pretty well. 😂👑

A cup of ambition, getting all dolled up, rhinestones, singing loud, loving louder, being unapologetically yourself… and leaving the world a little sparklier than you found it.

If that isn’t The Newfoundland Diva Company, I don’t know what is. 💕✨

And truthfully, that last line might just be my favourite of all.

💖 OKAY DIVAS… SHE’S BACK AT IT! 💖

After a couple of much-needed days to recharge the batteries, it’s time for this Diva to get back to work! 👑✨

Today is a BIG planning and prep day at The Newfoundland Diva Company.

First up, getting ready to bring all that Diva Dust to Bishop’s Falls this Saturday! 💖

But I’m also looking a little further ahead…

I’ve been reading your comments, taking notes and looking at different markets, pop-up opportunities and ways to bring The Newfoundland Diva Company to more of YOU over the next few months. 👀✨

There are a whole lotta places across this beautiful island that the Diva hasn’t visited yet… and I think it’s time we change that! 😉

So today there’ll be planning, emails, calendars, lists, inventory and of course a whole lot of shirts to get ready.

The batteries are recharged.

The ideas are flowing.

Now let’s get back at ’er! 💖👑
