🐦🍂 A Little Sunshine, A Lot of Birds & Some Wonderful Company! 🍂🐦
A HUGE thank you to the 9 lovely guests who joined us this morning for our bird/nature walk at Cheam Lake Wetlands! 💚
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful morning! ☀️ The sunshine was shining, the air was nice and brisk, and the birds were putting on a show… well, sort of! 😂📸
We heard lots of birds and managed to spot a few, but apparently they were playing an advanced game of hide-and-seek! One minute they were there, the next they had flitting off into the trees.
Thankfully, one lovely Great Blue Heron decided to cooperate! He posed for a few photos like a true professional before flying off. We even managed to catch another picture of him as he went on his way.
The birds weren’t the only stars of the morning! We also discovered: 🐛 A woolly bear caterpillar showing off its fuzzy little self. 🐸 An adorable little frog hopping into the spotlight. 🍄 A whole bunch of interesting mushrooms popping up along the way.
We even heard a kingfisher calling out to us! Unfortunately, this feathered celebrity decided to remain backstage today. We’ll just have to try again next time! 😉
A special shout out to Tiffany, our wonderful guide, for sharing her knowledge, pointing out interesting discoveries, and making the walk such an enjoyable and informative experience. We’re so lucky to have her! 💚

In the Northern Hemisphere, the First Day of Autumn is Tuesday, September 22. That's when the length of day and night are almost the same. Be sure your feeders are ready for some hungry birds that are either preparing or recharging for the longer nights.
