Luis Bran — one of Moperc’s most important collaborators in recent years.

For nearly 25 years, Luis has worked behind the scenes with Los Muñequitos de Matanzas. From Giovanni Hidalgo and Pedrito Martinez to Michael League and universities around the world, he seems to be connected to everything happening in Afro-Cuban folkloric culture.

Through El Almacén in Matanzas, he dedicates himself to teaching, preserving knowledge, building community, and creating audio/video content with professionals and students.

We’ve had the privilege of filming many projects in Cuba together.

We need more people like Luis in this world!

Many people who ordered recently have been writing to us asking for updates on their drums.

In this picture, you'll find drums that were ordered as far back as September 2025, while others were ordered just a few months ago, in March and April 2026.

Once these 35 drums are shipped, we'll finally be caught up on our order book and able to focus on the many bongo and conga orders waiting in line.

We're only two people building every drum by hand, and we truly appreciate your patience and support throughout this journey. Thank you!

Un autre weekend percussif ! 🥁

Le Québec est rempli de passionnés de tambours, et ce weekend en a été une belle démonstration.

Nous avons eu le plaisir de croiser des musiciens, enseignants, artisans et amateurs qui partagent tous la même passion : le rythme.

Chez Moperc, c'est toujours inspirant de voir à quel point la communauté percussive québécoise est vivante, diversifiée et portée par des gens dévoués. Chaque rencontre nous rappelle pourquoi nous faisons ce métier avec autant de passion.

28 congas to crown this week.

From natural ash to rich Brazilian mahogany, and from classic natural finishes to custom colors, this batch reflects the incredible variety our customers continue to inspire.

Each shell was built by hand in our small Québec workshop, and this week they'll all receive their skins and move one step closer to their new homes around the world.

We're grateful to be able to keep this craft alive and to serve a community of percussionists who value handmade instruments and attention to detail.
