🍂 A grateful heart changes your perspective.

Even on the busy days, there are little gifts tucked into ordinary life — warmth in the house, food on the table, laughter in the kitchen, someone to share the work with.

“In every thing give thanks.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

Today I'm choosing to look for those gifts instead of only looking at what's left on my to-do list. ❤️

What's one thing you're thankful for this morning?

🌿 New beginnings require courage.

Starting something new can feel exciting and a little scary at the same time. A fresh routine, a new project, even a little dream you've been carrying in your heart.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth.” — Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)

You don't have to see the whole road ahead to take your next faithful step. ❤️

What's one new thing you're looking forward to?

🪵 Preparing for winter on an off-grid Manitoba homestead isn't one big job — it's a whole collection of little ones!

There's firewood to haul, repairs to finish, insulation to think about, and that constant reminder that our daylight hours are getting shorter.

We're taking it one project at a time around here. Some days the progress looks big, and some days it's just crossing one thing off the list.

Either way, it all counts. ❤️

What is the biggest job on your before-winter list?

🌸 Give yourself grace in a busy season.

Some seasons ask more of us than we imagined. There's work to do, people to care for, and no shortage of things calling our name.

But we can bring our weary hearts to Jesus.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Do what you can today, and leave room for rest, prayer, and grace. ❤️

🥔 Three pantry staples that earn their shelf space!

When I'm thinking about simple family meals, I look for ingredients that can work more than one way.

1️⃣ Potatoes — bake them, roast them, mash them, or add them to soup.
2️⃣ Canned meat or beans — an easy start for sandwiches, stews, or a quick skillet meal.
3️⃣ Canned vegetables — a simple side dish or something extra for soups and casseroles.

You don't have to buy everything at once. Start with what your family actually uses, then add a little as your budget allows.

Which staple gets used most in your kitchen?

🌿 Faithfulness in the little things.

It's easy to think the big accomplishments are the ones that count. But so much of a faithful life is built in small moments: another meal prepared, another kind word, another promise kept.

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” — Luke 16:10 (KJV)

Today, don't overlook the good you're doing right where you are. Little things grow into a life of purpose. ❤️

What small blessing are you noticing this morning?

🥫 Want to build a better pantry? Start with ONE shelf!

You don't need hundreds of jars or a big grocery budget to begin.

🌿 Pick one shelf or cupboard.
🌿 See what you already have.
🌿 Group similar foods together.
🌿 Write down what you use regularly.
🌿 Choose just three things to restock.

That's it! Building a useful pantry starts with knowing what you have and planning around what your family actually eats.

That's why I created my Homestead Pantry Starter Kit — seven manageable steps to help you get started.

We've built. We've rebuilt. And I've learned to pray through it all. 🌿

“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”
Psalm 127:1 KJV

Over the years, David and I have built a lot together.

We've worked hard, made plans, faced setbacks, and had times when we had to pick ourselves up and start all over again.

Building a home isn't always easy. And rebuilding something you've already worked so hard for can be even harder.

But this time, something has been different for me.

I've made it a point to put Jesus first in every step of this build.

I've prayed over our plans. I've prayed over the materials we've needed, the decisions we've faced, and the challenges that have come along.

I've prayed for wisdom, provision, protection, and strength.

And I've prayed for David and our family.

As I've watched this home come together, I've seen so many little things work out in ways I never expected.

Things that seemed impossible suddenly became possible. Things we needed seemed to come at just the right time.

And in my heart, I believe I've been watching God answer prayers.

That doesn't mean every day has been easy. We've had frustrating days, setbacks, and plenty of moments when things didn't go according to plan.

But I've kept praying.

And through it all, my faith has grown stronger.

I've learned that putting Jesus first doesn't mean everything will go perfectly. It means I can trust Him even when it doesn't.

Maybe you're not building a house right now.

Maybe you're rebuilding your life, your family, your finances, or your faith.

Whatever season you're in, I want to encourage you to bring it before the Lord.

Pray over the little things. Pray over the big things. And don't stop praying when the answers take longer than you expected.

Because the greatest thing I'm building through all of this isn't just a home. It's a deeper trust in Jesus. ❤️

🙏 Today's Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for walking with me through every season of building and rebuilding. Thank You for the prayers You've answered and the lessons You've taught me along the way.

Please continue to guide my steps, give me wisdom, and bless the work being done on our home.

Help me always remember that You are my foundation, no matter what life brings.

In Jesus' precious name, Amen. ❤️

Have you ever been through a season of rebuilding that brought you closer to God?

🌸 God sees the work nobody notices.

The dishes washed. The meals cooked. The floors swept. The little hands held. The countless things you do every day that nobody thinks twice about.

Sometimes homemaking can feel like doing the same things over and over again. But those little acts of love matter. Your work has value. Your home has purpose. ❤️

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

What part of your daily work are you grateful for today?
