Sako Stock Refinishing

I received this stock from a customer who said there was two oil stains from the vice jaws on the right side of the buttocks after he had applied an oil finish. Although the vice jaws were padded which fortunately didn't mar the stock, it did however press the oil stain deeper into the stock. After several attempts to dry the stock and particularly this area. I ended up having to remove the tung oil finish entirely and apply a new one so that it was all even. Since tung oil builds up color each time you apply a new coat, the removal of the initial coat was the more efficient approach. Overall turned out well. Nice grain on this stock!
