If you've ever felt the healing power of sound move through you in a yoga class or a sound bath, Theda is part of the reason that music exists in this world.

Her crystal singing bowls, ethereal vocals, and deeply channelled songs have touched hearts at festivals, conferences, and sacred gatherings across Canada and internationally. Once again, she's stepping into another sacred offering.

Spring Equinox Kirtan with Ananda 🌷

Join us as we gather in community to welcome the spring equinox with Ananda - a time of balance, renewal, and new beginnings.

Through devotional mantra and shared song, we honor this seasonal threshold together. Ananda is a collective of five seasoned devotional musicians from Salt Spring Island who create sacred space through simple mantras and beautiful melodies that uplift the heart.

As the room fills with voices singing together, joy (ananda) naturally arises.

When: Saturday, March 21 • 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Where: The Heritage Room @ The Cowichan Hub

What to Expect:
🎶 90 minutes of devotional kirtan
🪘 Traditional instrumentation: harmonium, tabla, guitar, and more
🌸 Community gathering and spring equinox intentions

No experience necessary - all voices welcome.

Sliding scale tickets: $25-$35
All proceeds support Ananda's forthcoming album recording, helping bring these sacred songs to wider audiences.

What a night 🕯️✨

Thank you to everyone who gathered last night in the Phoenix Auditorium on Gabriola for the Falling into Serenity Sessions.

The candlelit space, the collective breath, the music that moved through us all - it was pure magic.

Deep gratitude to the soulful artists who wove this journey together, and to each of you who brought your open hearts and created such a warm, loving container for the evening to unfold.

At the end when all of our voices joined together? That’s what it’s all about.

Gabriola Island, you know how to show up for beauty and unity. Thank you for reminding us what happens when we gather with intention on a Tuesday night in November. 💛

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Gary Stroutsos, a visionary musician and one of YogiTunes’ longest-standing artists.

A message from Gary’s family:

“For those who knew and will continue to know him, we lost a truly magical person, musician, cultural worker, friend, teacher, jokester, historian, husband, and father.

His main passion was to keep the music alive and to share with such generosity and humility the gifts he received through his work and connections with people and the earth.”

Beautiful to see so many wonderful change makers coming together to grieve and celebrate the life of David Newman. He died recently of a brain tumor, which was very unexpected and sudden.

I feel moved by the power of our communities to come together and be with each other at such a time, honouring the generosity and kindness that David gave through his music and in many other ways throughout his life.
