Real talk✨️
This market season has been BRUTAL!
Not “slow.” Not “a little off.”
An absolute bust for so many small businesses and local artists. Including myself.
Months of prep. Late nights. Materials paid for up front. Countless hours creating, packing, hauling, setting up, tearing down - all for days that barely cover costs. Some don’t even come close.
It’s disheartening in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it.
You show up hopeful. You give it your all. You put your work out there, something you made with your hands, your heart, your time and you leave wondering how long you can keep doing this.
Small businesses don’t have cushions. Artists don’t have safety nets. When markets fail, it doesn’t just sting, it threatens whether we can keep creating and offering at all.
If you care about local art, handmade goods, real creativity - please support small businesses whenever you can. Buy directly. Share their work. Tell your friends. Choose local over mass-produced when possible.
It truly makes a difference.
And right now, it means everything to those small businesses and creators.
That being said, I am so deeply grateful for every single person who has shown up for me. Every purchase, every kind word, every share, every moment of support has mattered more than you know. You are the reason I keep going, even when it feels heavy and I question if I should keep doing this.🫶🏼💎💫🩷✨️
I wanted to make this post to say this to any artist or small business owner who’s struggling right now - it’s not just you. You’re not failing. You’re doing your best in a really hard, shaky economy.
Please don’t give up.
The world needs your offerings. Your art, your creativity, you matter. I see you, even if it feels like no one else does right now.
