Bill Mason (1929–1988) was a legendary Canadian canoeist, filmmaker, author, and conservationist often called the "patron saint of canoeing".

He created the iconic Path of the Paddle and Song of the Paddle books and instructional National Film Board (NFB) films, which standardized modern Canadian-style whitewater and solo paddling techniques.

Writers & Their Writing..
We recently acquired a private collection of antiquarian typewriters .. dating back to the WW1 era.
Typewriters changed not only how authors worked, but also the apoearance and rhythm of writing.
For writers of the early 1900s, the typewriter offered something revolutionary. Legibility, Speed & Professionalism. The ability to edit their work easily and retain copies of their work with the use of carbon paper.
One of the earliest famous writers to embrace the typewriter was Mark Twain. He claimed that " Life on the Mississippi" was the first book manuscript submitted in typewritten form. He used a Re*****on.
Ernest Hemingway was strongly associated with the typewriter. He often wrote standing up and used a Royal Quiet DeLuxe later in life.
Agatha Christie became one of the great prolific typrwriter-era authors. She wrote her mysteries using a Re*****on Home Portable and later other machines...
The typewriter became the bridge between the handwritten literary world of the 19th century and the computerized world that followed.
These typewriter from this collection will be available for purchase soon.
