Stevie and Amy took Kali, Precious, James, Brent and Derrick to compete in the trials for a spot on the NWT soccer team for the Arctic Winter Games in Fairbanks, Alaska. They all put in a stellar effort and did Fort Liard proud!

Getting our zombie on and playing with plasticine, all in the name of art! Here are a few snapshots from the claymation projects, where students are encouraged to make statements about local issues that they feel strongly about. Also a couple of happy snaps getting ready for the 13+ year old's scary movies.

On Saturday, September 7, many community members came together to help raise awareness of diabetes. Individuals as well as families and groups of friends of all ages ran and walked to show their support for tackling the lifestyle choices that can lead to the disease, which currently affects 9 million Canadians. A spread of fresh fruit and vegetables was the reward at the end of the 1.5, 2.5 and 5km runs. A big thanks must go out to Anna who manages the Northern Store and organised the day and to all of the volunteers whose contributions made the afternoon possible. A big congratulations is also necessary for everyone who participated in and completed the race; may you wear your medals with pride!

Such is life, the canoe trip didn't go to plan but fun was had by all, especially when the day ended with a helicopter flight over the Boreal Forest!

And a big thank you to Lance and Deh Cho Helicopters for their assistance!
