At 44, I became a helicopter pilot. 🚁
Not because it came naturally.
Not because it was easy.
And definitely not because I had extra time.
I did it while working full-time, running a business, raising two daughters, being a wife, and keeping up with two dogs who seem to think they’re full-time jobs too.
There were moments I was convinced I wasn’t smart enough.
Moments I thought maybe I was too old to learn something this difficult.
Moments I questioned whether I was even cut out for it.
What makes this moment extra special is that my love affair with the sky didn’t start in a helicopter.
As a teenager, I spent years ski jumping, chasing the feeling of flying. Somewhere between growing up, building a career, becoming a wife and a mom, that chapter got tucked away.
This licence feels like finding my way back to it.
But somewhere along the way, this stopped being about helicopters.
It became proof that with enough discipline, consistency, and stubbornness, you can accomplish things that once felt completely out of reach.
My biggest takeaway?
You are capable of so much more than you think.
The limits we place on ourselves are often far smaller than the ones we can actually overcome.
Thank you to Collège Select Aviation Aviation for believing in me, pushing me, and helping me earn these wings.
44 years old.
Full-time job.
Business owner.
Wife.
Mom.
Pilot. 🚁
Turns out I wasn’t too old.
I was just getting started.
