Oh my heart. I drove past the food bank today, and the line was so very long and there were kids and dogs and seniors out there shivering in the cold.
So many of us, myself included, have had to live so close to the edge in recent years that the thought of buying gifts for family and friends can only bring feelings of hopelessness and dread.
So, this is what we're going to do ... stop-by the shop between now and 2 p.m. on the 24th, and pay what you can for your stocking-stuffers and gifts. If you can contribute some non-perishables to our food drive, everything will be donated to a local food bank or shelter after the 25th.
We are not doing this for publicity or likes, but if you can share, tag, and otherwise spread the word, we can get more food into bellies and smiles on faces this holiday season.
