**The Tools Behind the Timber** 🤍

A little behind-the-scenes look at some of the tools that help bring **Bare Wood & Brush** to life.

Every piece starts as bare wood — then comes the cutting, sanding, painting, detailing, and finishing touches that turn it into something special for your home.

And yes… some of these tools may have started out as my husband’s tools, but I have a feeling they’re slowly becoming mine now. 😂

There may be sawdust, mistakes, learning curves, and probably a few “what did I get myself into?” moments along the way… but that’s all part of the handmade process.

These tools are helping me create shelf sitters, wood signs, LED signs, seasonal décor, and pieces made with heart from start to finish.

Well… after 3 attempts at cutting this goose, I officially gave up on the feet before I broke the wood again 😂

So needless to say, this girl is getting painted feet instead. Not every project goes perfectly, and that’s all part of the learning curve. One thing about me — I’m going to keep trying, keep learning, and somehow make it work along the way. 🪵🖌️

Honestly, I still think she’s turning out pretty cute for a stubborn little project. 🎃🪿

Behind every handmade piece is a little chaos, a lot of sawdust, and apparently a very serious tiny shop assistant.

She’s got the ear protection on, the vacuum in hand, and she’s making sure the workshop is ready for the next Bare Wood & Brush project. Around here, creativity is a family thing — messy benches, wood scraps, paint plans, and all. 🤎

Fall project in progress over here at Bare Wood & Brush. 🍂🎃

This little piece is starting to come together with a pumpkin, a goose in a witch hat, and all the cozy handmade fall vibes. Because apparently my brain said, “Yes, a spooky goose is exactly what this season needs.” 😂🪿

There’s still more painting, layering, and little details to add, but I’m already loving where this one is going. It’s giving cute, cozy, a little witchy, and definitely something fun for fall decor.

Stay tuned for the finished piece — hopefully the goose behaves better than my paint brushes do. 🤍🖌️

Behind the scenes at Bare Wood & Brush… also known as: organized chaos with paint bottles. 😂🎨

This is what it really looks like when handmade pieces are coming to life — paint everywhere, brushes scattered, ideas half-finished, and me pretending I know exactly where I put the colour I just had two seconds ago.

It may look messy, but this is where the magic happens. Every sign, every teacher gift, every little painted detail starts right here in the middle of the chaos.

No fancy studio over here — just a table full of paint, a mom with big ideas, and a whole lot of “please don’t spill that.” 🤍🖌️

Handmade isn’t always picture perfect behind the scenes… but it sure is made with love.

Just a little Bare Wood & Brush honesty moment.

If you ever see AI info under my posts, it’s because I enhance my photos — not because a robot is out here painting, sanding, cutting, or stressing over tiny details with me.

As we all know… I am no photographer. My phone camera has one setting and that setting is “make everything look like it was taken in a basement in 2009.”

So yes, I clean up my photos a bit so you can actually see the pieces the way they look in real life. The wood, the paint, the details, the love, the occasional panic — that’s all still handmade by me.

AI may help the photo look cute, but the sawdust, paint-covered hands, and “please don’t mess this up” moments are 100% real. 🤍🖌️
