You give a mug, you get a mug! We organize everything through the Elfster app.

📅 Important Dates
• Registration: September 11–18
• Mug Recipient Assigned: September 19
• Drop Off: September 21–30
• Pick Up: October 5–16

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1️⃣ Register through Elfster
Enter your name + email and make a wishlist to give your mug recipient some ideas! Think candy, chocolate, tea/coffee, hot chocolate, warm socks, bookmarks, knitted dishcloths, coasters, etc. Everything must be in its original packaging.

2️⃣ $5 Registration Fee
Your $5 donation goes directly to Friends of Children, a wonderful local group that helps schools and children in our communities. Last year, we raised $300! ❤️

3️⃣ Comment below once you’ve registered!
This lets us know where you’d like to pick up your mug. If you don’t comment, your mug will automatically be sent to Port Hood Home Hardware.

Did you know that the $5 donation from each mug swap participant goes right back into our local community?

Each year, we’re proud to support a small but incredibly dedicated group of grandmothers who work hard to help local schools and children in need. From clothing and school necessities, they help make sure every child has what they need to feel supported and ready for a positive school experience. 📚❤️

Here’s a photo from last year when we had the pleasure of presenting them with their cheque!

With 75 participants last year, the MacDonald Group of Home Hardware Building Centres were so happy to match your donations, allowing us to give $750 back to this wonderful group!

Thank you for helping make our Mug Swap about so much more than just exchanging mugs. It’s a little tradition that makes a big difference right here at home. 🤎☕️

🎉 The Great Community Mug Swap - Year #3 🎉

After such a successful Mug Swap the last two years we decided to do it again! Registration for the 2026 Great Community Mug Swap will officially be opening on September 11, 2026!!!!

Here’s what you need to know to join the fun:

Rules & Details:
☕️ Each participant will be randomly given a name to provide a mug for, this can be new, used in good condition, or handmade! You can fill the mug with small goodies, but please ensure they are in original packaging!

🎁 The gift bag you drop off must have your recipients full name, printed clearly, on the outside of the giftbag/box! This will ensure everyone’s mugs will reach their desired pick up location!

💵 There is a $5 entry fee that supports Friends of Children. This group is a small and dedicated group of grandmothers who focus on helping local schools and the less fortunate children in our communities! They provide essential items such as clothing, school supplies, and money to ensure every child has what they need for a positive school experience! You will be able to etransfer this amount to [email protected]. Please ensure you write your full name and write that it is for the Mug Swap!

✍🏻 Sign up will be through the same platform as last year, Elfster! You will be inputting your name, email, and a wish list that your partner could base your mug gift on!
