LaserShark Woodcraft and Engraving Welcome to LaserShark Woodcraft and Engraving. I currently offer a lot of different kinds of wood g I spent a lot of time trying all the different hobbies.

I was the kid in school that always got low grades in art, but a few years down the road from that, and a few more to gain some wisdom, I discovered that if you don't have someone telling you what something should look like, judging your progress, and discouraging you from trying different things until you find the one that works for you, you can actually find a passion for creating. The one that has stuck the most was foam crafting. Made a bunch of different armour sets, slowly improving my craft, until one day, as fate would have it, I found myself without a job, but with a little bit of extra money, a lot of time to mess around in my craft room, and a super supportive wife. My first passion has always been tech, and in a decision between a laser cutter, to help cut out foam pieces, or a 3d printer to help make the pieces in a new medium, I choose the laser cutter. Started playing around with it, discovered that there was a whole lot more it could do, bought a bigger laser and started creating products I could sell. Creating things with the laser also seemed like it would go very well with woodworking in general. Another one of those early hobbies that I tried, but never got into because of that little voice in my head from school that used to tell me I was bad at this kind of stuff. Turns out, once again, that the main thing you need to be good at something is to keep doing it. Having the right tools for the job, and the willingness to start over until you find a style you like are also super helpful. So here I am now. I make all sorts of wood gifts with the laser. Lanterns, boxes, doll houses, earrings, key chains, engraved signs. For wood working I am learning to turn bowls on my lathe, build boxes the more traditional way and making larger projects like cedar picnic tables and wishing wells. There is always so much more to try.

Got a new map done. I foolishly assumed this one would be fairly easy, I already have it on the corner of the Kootenay Lake map, just need to enlarge it, add some depths, add a couple landmarks on the west side, and it will be good to go. Silly me. Apparently this is the sixth deepest lake it BC, at 902ft. And the west side, with Valhalla Provincial Park, is full of mountain peaks and little lakes that I needed to find the names for. Had to limit myself to the level of detail I put on it so I would have time to get one made for the Creston Valley Farmers Market on Saturday.

If I had a nickel for every time some asked me if I had mushroom earrings, I would have two nickels. Which isn't actually a lot of nickels, but I do have mushroom earrings now.

Needed a new chair to sit on during markets, so why not try out a Viking chair.
