Known for its iconic statue of Kazimierz Pułaski holding court over the butteriest benches on the East Coast, Freedom Plaza aka Pulaski has been Washington D.C.’s skateboarding Mecca for decades. As the District’s only skate shop, Crushed came in hot in 2020, providing a new hub for scene, community, and devoted plaza denizens. An homage to the Capital City’s proving ground, Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Crushed brings unexpected details with a “Golden Hour” inspired colorway, triple lace situation, and custom insole art that calls back to the grit, graffiti, and glory that does down behind the scenes. Finished with a sunkissed swoosh, the Crushed Dunk captures that perfect bit of light flashing off the Pulaski’s legendary ledges… just don’t think of waxing them. Ever. A majority of the upper is dialed to an eggshell white, while dusty brown suede overlays and marbled Swoosh logos with gray and orange color-blocking sit adjacent. The tongues are styled with the usual Nike SB logos, but swap out the normal SB Dunk Low text for a “Crushed D.C.” spell out. More branding shows face on the inside of the kicks as well as the interior of the tongues also features the skate shop’s moniker while the insoles are printed with name tag-inspired hits. Down below, the sneakers are fashioned with NikeGrind materials and orange-tinted outsoles to align with the base’s accents.
