Do you celebrate Halloween or the Day of the Dead?
While both celebrations are about death, the Day of the Dead also celebrates life.
As a tradition, the three days of the festival (October 31 to November 2) are to pay tribute to our loved ones who have passed away. It is believed that during this time the barriers that separate the dead from the living are removed and we are reunited again.
It often happens that families put an "Ofrenda" in their home, a table turned into an altar and decorated with symbolic objects that represent relatives or friends who have died. It's here when everyone, dead and living, gather to eat and drink what the dead would have liked!

Oaxaca is the largest intercultural center in the country and also has the largest ethnic, linguistic and biological diversity in Mexico. It has the rich cultural heritage of its 16 indigenous groups, which makes it a creative and colorful state.

Among the most renowned crafts of Oaxaca we find the "Alebrijes", which have achieved worldwide attention as fantastic and colorful creatures from the Zapotec cosmology. These items are made individually by hand out of copal wood, and each one of them is a unique piece.
