🇨🇦 Canada Day in Sabaskong Bay! 🇨🇦

The Nestor Falls Recreation Committee invites everyone to join us on July 1st for a fun-filled day celebrating Canada Day with family, friends, and community spirit!

☀️ Activities Include:
🚤 Boat Parade (boats, kayaks, jet skis & more welcome!)
🌭 BBQ Fundraiser
🎯 Co****le Tournament
🗺️ Scavenger Hunt
🎆 Fireworks at Dusk (dependent on fire ban)

Whether you’re decorating a boat, competing for prizes, enjoying a burger, or just spending the day with friends and neighbors, there’s something for everyone!

All fundraiser proceeds help support family and children’s events in our community throughout the year. Your participation helps make Nestor Falls an amazing place to live, visit, and celebrate together.

Got household items you can’t toss in the landfill? We’ve got you covered! ♻️

For the first time ever in Sioux Narrows, join us for Household Hazardous Waste
Days and safely dispose of items like:
• Paint cans & stains
• Batteries
• Fuels & oils
• Antifreeze
• Household cleaners
• Aerosol cans
• Pesticides
• Solvents & thinners (and more!)

Household hazardous waste (HHW) includes materials that can be corrosive, explosive, flammable, or poisonous — and if thrown in the garbage or down the drain, they can contaminate our soil, air, and drinking water.

🕗 Drop-off runs 8:00–11:30 a.m., in Sioux Narrows on June 11 & 12.

Important reminders:
• Keep materials in well-labelled, sealed containers
• Do not mix substances
• Place needles/syringes in puncture-proof containers

Let’s work together to keep our community clean and make less of an impact 💚

📬 Using the Dock Box? Here’s how:
1️⃣ Remove an envelope from the dock box
2️⃣ Record your license plate number on both portions of the envelope
3️⃣ Determine your fee
4️⃣ Tear along the perforated line
5️⃣ Place the top portion face-up on your dashboard
6️⃣ Insert payment into the envelope, seal it, and place it in the dock box

Be careful out there!

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 ☀️

Spending time outdoors? Here are the six best ways you can stay safe:

🕧 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗩 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 – stay out of the sun between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., or whenever the UV Index is 3 or higher
☂️ 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗲 – if your shadow is shorter than you, sit under a tree or use an umbrella for protection
✅ 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗽 – wear clothing with tightly woven fabric or labelled with UV protection factor (UPF)
👒 𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝘁 – wear a wide-brimmed hat that covers your head, face, ears and neck
🕶️ 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 – choose close-fitting styles with UVA and UVB protection
🌞 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 – apply SPF 30 or higher every two hours
