Your Old Friends — Treasures with a past, waiting for their next chapter.

St. Vincent de Paul has been serving the Kamloops community for more than two decades, offering a wide range of support to those in need. Most notably, our Thursday Seniors’ Luncheon, where upwards of 100 local seniors come together each week to enjoy a healthy meal, friendship and community.

And this little thrift store—our hidden gem—has been part of that story from the beginning. Thanks to your generous donations of gently used items, it has had the privilege of giving back to our community in a big way.

We know how important local seniors are to you, and much like us, you love this community. That’s why we’re excited to give this page a new purpose while honouring the history, generosity and community spirit that made it possible.
And now, the fun begins!

A traditional thrift shop is the treasure hunt you’ve been waiting for—and things are only going to get better as we make some small changes to improve your shopping experience.

We’re excited to work toward making this the best little thrift shop in town! So stay with us, give us a little time, and keep checking back. You’ll be glad you did!

❤️ A Heartfelt Thank You ❤️

With very heavy hearts, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close the doors of Old Friends Vintage later this month.

This wasn’t a decision we made lightly. Old Friends was never just a vintage shop—it was a social enterprise built on the belief that every purchase could make a difference in the lives of vulnerable seniors. It became a place of friendship, laughter, and community, and for that we will be forever grateful.

Unfortunately, the rising cost of rent, combined with the increasing challenges facing small businesses, has made it impossible for us to continue in our current location.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be holding farewell sales as we work to find new homes for the treasures in our shop. We’d love for you to stop by one last time, share a memory, and help us close this chapter.

While our storefront is closing, our mission is not. We are working to ensure our vulnerable seniors have access to support as we transition our outreach.

To every customer, volunteer, donor, and friend—thank you. Your kindness, generosity, and friendship have meant more than words can say.

Don’t feel bad for us, this isn’t goodbye. We hope to return one day with a refreshed vision in a new location. Until then... thank you for believing in us. ❤️
