ATTENTION! If you received an email today from our executive director about an invitation to place a bid, DO NOT OPEN! DELETE IMMEDIATELY! It is a phishing email that if you click the link it will give bad people access to your email and address book. The text of the email starts as follows:

“Hello,

Downtown Orillia Business Improvement Area is pleased to extend a formal Invitation to Bid for the construction of a new twelve-storey, approximately 285,000 sq. ft. mixed-use multi-residential development comprising 215 residential units, ground-floor commercial retail space, and two levels of underground parking, delivered in partnership with public sector stakeholders. Construction is scheduled to commence on July 31, 2026.
