Hey everyone, I wanted to reach out and give you an honest update on what’s happening behind the scenes here.
Usually, I’d be buzzing with excitement to launch our bouquet subscriptions, but this year, life and Mother Nature had other plans.
Due to a recent hospital stay, I’ve had to completely step back to heal. I have to give a massive, heartfelt shout-out to my husband, who stepped entirely out of his comfort zone and took over the field. He did 100% of the planting for me while I, besides a few slow walks a day, was couch-ridden.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not make it easy on him. We went straight from snow during prime planting time to extreme heat, drought, and relentless wind the moment he got things into the ground.
Because of the brutal elements, the field is really struggling:
The Celosia is barely 3 inches tall and already trying to bloom.
The Asters look like single-stem, yellow-and-brown twigs under a foot tall.
Because of this, we will not be offering bouquet subscriptions this year.
While the field didn't do what we hoped, I am so incredibly grateful for a husband who dropped everything to become a flower farmer for me. The snapdragon crop is looking promising, so watch for bunches available in the next couple of weeks.
