I just finished watching a CBC news story about Donald Trump and his personal economic attack on Canada and its effects on Canadian small businesses. While we have not had any direct issues with the tariffs imposed by the United States, the tariffs do cause enough general chaos to trickle down to affect small businesses, like ours. You know us. You know we do our utmost to provide the best possible price we can muster. Unfortunately, sometimes prices go up due to circumstances beyond our control. I appreciate your patience and understanding at this time during this point we find ourselves in, thanks to Mr.Trumps economic diversion. All we ask is, if you are boycotting U.S. imports, buy Canadian OR, consider buying BRITISH. We understand these are difficult times for us all, and we wanted to thank you for your continued support over these past eighteen years and beyond. It's going to take more than a map, a Sharpie marker, and stupid name changes to bend Canada to the will of a tyrant. 😎❤️🇬🇧🇨🇦🍻

The UK Shoppe is closed today but will reopen on Tuesday with our new shop hours, 9am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays. Enjoy your day!

Tomorrow, September 6th marks our 18th shop anniversary! I've spent 1/3 of my life within these walls. In this time we avoided a global recession back in 2008. In 2010 we survived Walmart and other box stores getting in on the British food market. We got through the pandemic of 2020 because I registered the business as a grocery store (essential) and not a gift shop (non essential). We have witnessed the coming and goings of other Brit shops, and yet, we remain. In 2021 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease but I'm still standing. Our shop is still here today because of all of you! YOU are the ones who have kept us going all these yeas! You've fed my family as we have fed yours and Dad and I thank you all for that! I'll keep going as long as the Parkinson's will allow. I'm not done yet! Special shout out to my wife and kids for putting up with their Dad missing so much family stuff over the years. Thanks to my brother, Brad, or everything he does at 'Get GET SEEN GRAPHICS! Thanks as always to my extended family for their unwavering support since day ONE, Saturday, September 6th, 2008! The BIGGEST THANK YOU goes out to my Dad, Paul. Without Dad there would be no UK Shoppe! The same goes for you, Ma! XO! Life can move pretty fast and sometimes you need to stop and look back to see how far you've come and I've been doing that a lot these days. So! I tip my hat and raise my glass to all of you and say "Cheers!" Here's to the future!

The television series "Coronation Street" has been on TV for SIXTY FIVE YEARS. Within that time there have been over 60 MURDERS on that street ALONE! I hereby nominate the Weatherfield Police Department as the WORST Police Force in Britain! 😆❤️🇬🇧
